We’re incredibly honored and grateful that SouthState Bank recently featured our family’s journey through childhood cancer.

What started as one of the hardest seasons of our lives forced us to lean on faith, family, and community in ways we never had before. Navigating the balance between work, family, and the realities of a cancer diagnosis wasn’t easy—but through it, we found purpose.

That purpose became Pickle’s People.

What began as a way to give back has grown into a mission to support other families right here in Charleston who are facing the unthinkable. From hospital support to community events, we’re committed to making sure no family walks this road alone.

We’re so thankful to SouthState for telling this story and for supporting us along the way. And we’re forever grateful to this community that continues to lift up families in need.

One of Pickle’s People’s very first initiatives was creating care packages for families receiving a pediatric cancer diagnosis at MUSC. 💛

Cadence and Zach thoughtfully reflected on what meant the most during long hospital stays—and what brought Eliza Cate comfort and joy during her time at .

Each package includes fun and comfort items, along with gift cards to help ease some of the financial burden families face. We provide gas cards and local meal options (to some of the Volousky family’s favorite spots!)

A huge thank you to Paisano's Pizza Grill and East Bay Deli for your generosity in making this possible!

We’re also so grateful to The Monka Foundation for donating craft kits to include in these care packages—what a special addition! 🎗️

WOW! What an incredible way to close out the 2026 MUSC Cares for Kids Radiothon! 🎉

✨ Pickle’s People volunteers manned the phone lines, helping raise critical funds for the hospital

✨ Pickle’s People matched $25,000 in donations during our Power Hour!

✨ Eliza Cate, Cadence, and Zach bravely shared their story live on Mix 95.9, 92.5 Kickin' Country, and Star 99.7

✨ 50 care packages were delivered for families facing a new pediatric cancer diagnosis at MUSC

We are so grateful to have close to home, and deeply thankful for everyone who supports our mission of giving back. 🎗️💛

✅ The Accelerating Kids’ Access to Care Act
✅ The Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act
✅ Continued funding for the Childhood Cancer STAR Act and the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative
✅ Increased funding for cancer research at the Department of Defense
✅ Increased funding for the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute
✅ Full funding for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health
✅ Important reforms that will help address the cost of cancer care
