Founded June 13, 1888, the College of Charleston Alumni Association is an independent nonprofit association representing a global network of nearly 100,000 former students of the College. Its mission is to serve the College and it does so through exciting events, a growing scholarship endowment, and programs and services to engage alumni and students. Annual dues were eliminated in 2007 and all fo

rmer students who earned credit toward a degree at the College are considered members in good standing of the Alumni Association. The Alumni Association is committed to fostering a strong, welcoming, and inclusive alumni community. With more than 40 CofC Clubs and Alumni Affinity Groups dedicated to connecting alumni who share interests, experiences, and pride in the College, there is a home for every College of Charleston Cougar, no matter where we may roam. Lemuel "Boo" Walker, III '02, is a full-time novelist, and his 17th novel, "The English Bookstore in Bologna," is soon to be released on August 18. Prior to his writing career, he worked in music and songwriting. He joined a band while at the College and eventually moved to Nashville to pursue it professionally. However, his music career was cut short due to an injury, and he returned to the College. He discovered his passion for writing shortly after graduating and has since built a successful career. While at the College, Mr. Walker earned his BA in music. He and his wife, Mikella, reside in Cape Elizabeth, ME, with their son.

Elizabeth Berry ’14 recently earned her MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. She now owns an interior design consulting practice specializing in residential and small commercial projects and serves as the Workplace Project Manager at Atlantic Union Bank. In 2021, she earned her MFA in Design from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. While at the College, she earned her BA in Historic Preservation and Urban Studies. We’re proud to celebrate Ms. Berry and her continued success.
