There is only ONE abortion business in the state of West Virginia. It is the Women’s Health Center, located at 510 Washington Street West in Charleston. Their bus
iness is to kill unborn children and their business is booming. Directly across the street from the entrance to Women’s Health Center, on the corner of Washington Street West and Greendale Drive, there is a vacant lot for sale. The lot has been for sale for many years and the asking price is $199,000. On September 18, 2021, the Kanawha-Putnam County Chapter of WV for Life took a giant leap of faith and entered in to a 3 month lease on the lot that includes the first right of refusal to purchase the property at the end of the lease which is on December 31, 2021. Since September 22, people from all over the state have been coming to stand, fast and pray around Women’s Health Center for an end to abortion during the first 40 Days For Life Charleston WV prayer vigil. Having legal access to that lot has afforded pro-life prayer warriors a safe place to park, gather, worship and pray. It has also provided a place for us to build a memorial for the unborn boys and girls that have lost their lives to abortion at Women’s Health Center. In direct view of the abortion business now stands a fifteen-foot cross with the words, “Ye they may forget, yet will I not forget thee” Isaiah 49:15. It has come to our attention that Women’s Health Center, West Virginia’s only abortion provider, wants to purchase the property as soon as our lease is up. They do not want us to have visibility or access to the women that walk through their doors to kill their unborn children. They do not want the light of Christ to reveal the darkness of evil that is happening in that place every day. Let’s just be honest, we’re bad for “business”. Every time a mother changes her mind and chooses life, they lose money and they’re going to do whatever it takes to not allow that to happen. Raising the money to purchase the property will be easy for them, they have supporters with familiar names and deep pockets. In just a matter of weeks they raised over $7000 with their “Pledge A Picketer” campaign where people donated because we were there praying. There is a spiritual battle raging on the corner of Washington Street West and Greendale Drive in Charleston, West Virginia. It is a battle of good and evil and it’s time for us, as followers of Christ, to take back the land and claim it for the Lord. We have until December 31, 2021, to raise the funds to purchase this property. This is bigger than we are but it’s not bigger than the God we serve. Women’s Health Center supports may have familiar names and deep pockets but the God we serve owns everything and EVERY knee shall bow at the sound of His name.
