As we near the close of Substance Use Disorder and Treatment Month, we would like to remind everyone of the importance of talking about these issues. Addiction thrives in silence and in stigma. No matter someone's age, they can face this struggle. It is never too late, or too early, to find recovery 💜

This Substance Use Disorder and Treatment Month, educate your children on the dangers substance use can pose.

We have some incredible resources on our website, including guides to help you talk to children in your community about the dangers of substance use. This information and guidance was developed in collaboration with Dr. Norman Montalto, a long-time friend and advisor to the Institute. Dr. Montalto is a physician and a statewide and national networking activist and social entrepreneur seeking to reduce health inequities and improve harm reduction services. His expertise in talking with others about prevention and treatment is invaluable.
