Calling all businesses! Kick off the New Roaring 20's with Communities In Schools of the Charleston Area by sponsoring The 2020 Chocolate Affair. This black-tie gala features decadent chocolate desserts, live and silent auction items, and live music. Proceeds from this event support over 8,000 of Charleston’s underserved students (K-12) in the CIS program.

Table sponsorships start at $2,000 and include signage on our website and a table for 8 at the event. Marketing sponsorships start at $1,500 and include a half-page black and white ad in the event program and 2 complimentary tickets to the event.

Yani Smith delivered good news in the form of a generous donation to some 8th grade CIS students last week. is sponsoring a field trip and college tour in a few weeks to Benedict College and Allen University. This is just one of several projects that SLF is partnering with CIS of Charleston to help support our kids and important work. Thanks SLF for all the good you do in this community! VISTA JOB OPPORTUNITY! The mission of Communities In Schools is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS of Charleston is seeking a person who will create an operational and sustainable social media engagement platform that supports and promotes all aspects of the CIS program. Term of job runs June 2019 - June 2020 (with some flexibility). The position is a full time, 12 month position funded by the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) program. It includes:

• a yearly living allowance of $12,277
• VISTA healthcare and childcare benefits
• an Education award or end of year service stipend
• mileage reimbursement for service-related travel
• professional development opportunities
