Dear Fun "Runners" and Photographers,

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your participation in the 2021 Asher's Fun Run. We had a most incredible turnout with runners from all over the country and all over the globe! The photographs that were submitted filled us with laughter and smiles and remembering Asher on a special day. Your support and donations to the Asher Mills Education Program were HUGE and will go a long way to further develop the program and provide outdoor experiences to what would be Asher's friends, classmates and neighbors. It is very meaningful to us the continued support and friendship we receive from you all through the Fun Run and more importantly outside of it. Thank you all!

We are getting excited for the 6th annual Asher’s Fun Run— Photo Contest Edition THIS Saturday, December 18th. We asking everyone to get outside, enjoy a walk in your area, snap a picture, and share for Asher. To make it interesting, we will have prizes for 5 different categories; Nature, Silly, Abstract, Cute and On the Ground. Have fun with this and don’t take it too seriously! 😅 All proceeds benefits the Coastal Expeditions Asher Mills Education Program so go crazy! 🤪

Here are some FAQs about the photo contest:
-You don’t need to say the category (unless you want to)— We will figure it out (I hope)
-You can submit multiple— We are just so excited to have everyone participate so the more the merrier
-No drawn pictures, GIFs or videos, Just pictures will do!

-Make sure to have pictures submitted by 5pm

Have fun with this! Getting out in nature and going for a walk has really helped Eric and I through our grieving process. We hope everyone can get outside, remember Asher and find something beautiful in your world. That’s what it is all about.

Greetings Everyone,

Asher's 6th Birthday is coming up. Although missing him is hard, the continued support we receive from friends, family, neighbors and perfect strangers has been most moving and inspirational. We think about Asher all of the time and he still manages to brighten our days throughout it all. We do hope that you can participate in the 6th annual Asher's Fun Run - This year's twist: The Photo Contest.

For the 2021 Fun Run, pick a favorite place to get outside for your walk or run, and keep your camera at the ready. This year, it is not the run times that matter for victory, it is the photo you take on your walk/run! That's right - there is no need to submit race times this year unless it is to brag. This should come as good news to many participants of past Fun Runs. Instead, submit your favorite photo from your walk/run and our panel of judges will be selecting 6 winners in various categories to be this year's Fun Run Champions. The best photograph of your day could make you one of them! Prizes range from official Asher's Fun Run Prize Packages to $100 VISA Gift Card. Last year, The Coastal Expeditions Foundation was the beneficiary. CEF raises awareness, minds and funds to protect wild places and wildlife of the South Carolina Lowcountry. They accomplish this through education, stewardship, creative programming, outdoor field trips free to students, supporting other non-profits and community partners in this goal, amongst many other avenues.

With help of the funds that last year's Fun Run donations raised, they successfully piloted the Asher Mills Education Program, which gives the opportunity to an entire grade level of downtown Charleston Title-1 school students for a series of outdoor experiences and nature based educational opportunities throughout their elementary school education. This program is becoming a model in demonstrating the importance of nature based education for students and we are excited for its future! We are excited for this year's donations to again go to building this amazing program! Contest entry donations are the pay-what-you-please model this year. Any donation amount means a lot to us and will be much appreciated! All donations are tax deductible.
