Pinch Points: Small Spaces, Serious Injuries ⚠️

Pinch points can happen anywhere moving objects, equipment or materials come together—and injuries can happen in an instant.

Before starting a task:

🔹 Identify pinch points and stored energy
🔹 Keep hands and body out of the line of fire
🔹 Use tools instead of your hands when possible
🔹 Communicate before moving equipment or materials
🔹 Never assume gloves will prevent a crushing injury

Remember: If it can move, rotate, swing, shift or fall, it can create a pinch point.

Take a second. Stay alert. Keep yourself out of harm’s way.

Watch Your Back: Prevent Backing Accidents 🚧

Backing incidents can happen in seconds. Take the time to stop, look, and communicate.

👀 Walk around equipment before backing.
🦺 Use a spotter whenever possible—and stop if you lose sight of them.
🚫 Stay out of blind spots and never assume an operator sees you.
📱 Eliminate distractions and back slowly.
👁️ Make eye contact with operators before approaching.

A few extra seconds can prevent a serious injury and help everyone get home safely.
