CAWV MISSION STATEMENT: The Contractors Association of West Virginia serves its members, the construction industry and general public through communication, education, representation and promotion. The CAWV is the state chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and the American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA).

⛳ CAWV Scholarship Golf Outing a Success!

The annual CAWV Scholarship Golf Outing was held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, bringing together nearly 150 CAWV members and guests for a day of networking, camaraderie, and friendly competition.

The CAWV Scholarship Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to all the players, sponsors, and supporters who helped make this year’s event a success. Proceeds from the tournament help fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in construction-related fields and civil engineering. Since its inception, the scholarship program has awarded more than $250,000 to hundreds of deserving students across West Virginia.

🔧 Hand & Power Tool Safety: Small Steps, Big Impact

Hand and power tools are used every day on jobsites, but injuries can happen when tools are damaged, poorly maintained, or used improperly.

✅ Inspect tools before each use
✅ Remove damaged tools from service immediately
✅ Keep guards in place and working properly
✅ Prevent trip hazards by securing cords and hoses
✅ Wear the right PPE for the task
✅ Follow proper training and operating procedures
✅ Report defects and unusual tool operation right away

A few extra minutes spent inspecting and maintaining tools can prevent serious injuries and help keep everyone safe on the jobsite.
