St. C(S)harbel's Canonization

On this day in 1977, Saint Pope Paul VI canonized Saint Charbel Makhlouf! The decision to canonize Saint Charbel, as any other Saint canonized in modern times, was based on a study of his life and the Vatican’s investigation and confirmation of two miracles directly attributed to his intercessory prayers.

Though not all claimed interventions have been formally investigated since St. Charbel’s canonization, St. Charbel has since been known as a “miracle worker” whose intercessory prayers have touched many lives from Heaven since Jesus Christ our King is responsible for the healings. As with all technology there is good and bad. Remember in the 1950s with the age of the ''atom'' that science was not inherently evil or good it was the application of it. Atomic bomb... maybe bad, atomic energy for powering a city... maybe good. With AI (SI) same applies.

We must be guardians of this tech. And there are those in the world that ARE evil that may want to sway things one way or another to suppress or embellish AI.

✝️ Today we celebrate St. Joseph of Cupertino.

Known as the “Flying Saint,” Joseph was a 17th-century Franciscan priest who struggled greatly with his studies. Yet he persevered in his vocation and was ordained a priest in 1628.

During moments of intense prayer—especially in devotion to Jesus and Mary— Joseph experienced extraordinary ecstasies and levitations. In fact, 70 incidents of levitation were recorded during the investigation preceding his canonization.

Despite these extraordinary experiences, Joseph remained devoted to prayer, humility, obedience, and the Eucharist. Despite the Order and some of the Churches he worked in, the superiors ''hid'' him fro the congregation because of his levitations. He was sequestered to a cell in the parish for many years. He was canonized by Pope Clement XIII in 1767 and is especially honored as a patron of students and aviators.

His life reminds us that our struggles and limitations do not prevent God from working through us.

AI Model Misbehavior (a post from 1440)

OpenAI disclosed six new cases of concerning behavior by its AI models, including systems that hid mistakes, fabricated data, and took unauthorized actions. The company responded with a new framework for investigating and publicly reporting such incidents.

The incidents occurred during training or evaluation, not customer deployments, over the past six months. In one case, a model wrote hidden instructions reminding itself to conceal errors; another inserted "jailbreak-like" commands into its own notes. Under the new framework, employees can flag concerning behavior, which is routed into one of three investigation tracks. The move follows OpenAI's report on a July incident involving Hugging Face in which models circumvented safeguards and accessed third-party systems (see a database of reported AI incidents).

The announcement follows public calls for a slowdown in AI development: A recent poll found 63% of Americans believe advanced AI poses at least a moderate risk of eventually causing human extinction (watch how that could play out).

Could this be a diabolical infestation of this type of technology system? Pray on it please. This is one expert that states that AI could wipe out humanity by 2030.
