It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that we inform the Brotherhood of the passing of one of our own, Brother Jerry Yeargain.

Jerry was more than just a 38-year member of our Local. He was a true legend within our Brotherhood and played a pivotal role in shaping the Local into what it is today. Throughout his years of service, Jerry passed down a wealth of knowledge, experience, and wisdom to countless members who had the privilege of working alongside him and learning from him. His teachings and influence will continue to live on through the generations of members who came up under him.

Jerry's dedication to the trade, his Local, and his fellow brothers will not be forgotten. His legacy will forever be a part of our Brotherhood.

Please keep Jerry's family, friends, and all those who knew him in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

Rest easy, Brother Jerry. Your work here is done, but your legacy will live on.

🇺🇸 REMEMBER WHAT LABOR DAY REALLY STANDS FOR 🇺🇸

Labor Day is more than a three-day weekend, a cookout, or the unofficial end of summer. It is a day to recognize the generations of working men and women who stood together, organized, and fought to make the American workplace better for everyone.

The labor movement fought for the 8-hour workday, safer working conditions, fair wages, overtime protections, weekends, and a voice on the job. Those fights didn’t just benefit union members. Organized labor has fought for ALL workers union and non-union alike.

Peter J. McGuire, a carpenter and one of the early leaders credited as a father of Labor Day, understood that working people deserved a day dedicated to recognizing their contribution to this country. He and countless others helped build a movement based on a simple principle: working people are stronger when they stand together.

Their fight didn’t end with them. It’s our responsibility to carry it forward.

We must continue standing together for fair wages, safe jobsites, dignity and respect on the job, and the opportunity for every worker to build a better life for themselves and their family.

We rightly set aside Memorial Day to remember the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our country. Labor Day deserves to be remembered and celebrated with that same sense of purpose by remembering the sacrifices of the working men and women who fought to improve the lives of generations that came after them.

Enjoy the cookout. Enjoy the time with family and friends. But never forget why we have Labor Day.

Honor those who fought before us.
Stand with the workers beside us.
And keep fighting for those who will come after us.

An injury to one is an injury to all.

⚙️ Happy Labor Day from Millwright Local 443.

United we bargain. Divided we beg.

It is with deep regret that I inform those who have not yet heard of the passing of our Brother Millwright, Tommy Glass.

Brother Tommy was a dedicated member of our Local for many years. He was a skilled craftsman, a valued Union Brother, and part of the Millwright brotherhood that extends far beyond the jobsite. His years of service, friendship, and dedication to our trade will not be forgotten.

As Millwrights, we know the bonds we build working side by side often last a lifetime. Brother Tommy will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him and calling him Brother.

Please keep Tommy’s family, friends, and fellow Brothers and Sisters in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Brother. Your work here is done.

It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that I inform our members of the passing of our Brother Robert “Bobby” Dressler.

Brother Dressler’s funeral service will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11, at 11:00 AM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Please keep Brother Dressler’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him in your thoughts and prayers.

A good Millwright knows that every job eventually comes to an end. The tools are laid down, the last bolt is tightened, and the final shift comes to a close. Brother Dressler has worked his final shift here on earth, but the brotherhood and memories he leaves behind will carry on.

Rest easy, Brother. Your tools are laid down, your work here is complete, and your final alignment is true.

Fly high, Bobby. Until we meet again in that great Union Hall above, may God rest your soul and watch over your family.

Gone from the job, but never forgotten by the Brotherhood.
