It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the following news to our community.
Effective December 31st, 2023, Adopt a Cause will be closing its doors for good.
🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
For the past two years we have been operating yearly with less than $6,000 in monetary donations. These donations (specifically for operations) have come from only 4 separate sources to include 2 individuals and 2 religious organizations. There are over 7k people in our county, you do the math..
In addition, my husband and I (who are not rich) have forked out thousands of dollars out of pocket to help Adopt a Cause survive.
We would like to point out that while some of the community has been generous with tangible donations for specific causes, our organization can’t pay its bills with items nor have all causes been fulfilled entirely for quite sometime now.
It is heartbreaking for us to turn down causes and to tell someone who is genuinely struggling, that no one donated to their cause and so on..
As far as receiving monetary assistance from LOCAL churches and organizations, we reached out to all 18 churches in our county on numerous occasions and via numerous avenues.
We received ONE pledge from ONE church in CCC (THANK YOU♥️). Most didn’t respond, others gave us the runaround, and others said that we had to prove ourselves more (whatever that means…)
We have also tried numerous times to recruit volunteers for both assistance with grant writing and with other tasks. We received many empty promises..
In early January we stood before the County’s Administration, did a small presentation and asked for Adopt a Cause to be included in this year’s financial budget. Unfortunately we weren’t selected.
We are very grateful for all of the people who were able to help us and the community. Thanks to the few who stuck by us, many people and pets were served.
We would like to thank with all of our hearts the few who have been there for us and for our community, you know who you are. God is so good and He chooses His soldiers carefully.
Special thanks to the ONE church (outside of CCC) who has gone above and beyond for us and the people🕊️🧔♀️🕊️.
Thanks also to those who have hosted our Adopt a Boxes and who have donated of their items, money and or time to help thy neighbors these past two years. ALL ADOPT-A-BOXES WILL BE REMOVED BY DECEMBER 31, 2023.
We would have loved to continue on this journey of helping our beautiful county. We have exhausted all means and resources to be able to do so. We simply don’t have the money/donations that running an organization entails and truly it’s everyone’s community.
We are very happy to continue serving God on a personal level and we believe that He has even more wonderful things in store for is. 🕊️🧔♀️🕊️This new chapter of our life comes with a lot of joy for us. Most importantly we feel so blessed as a marriage to have been able to be a witness of God’s love. We are humbled by this opportunity and this has fortified our marriage so much more. Life is a learning experience and we are very grateful for it and for each other. ♥️
Memos:
* Due to exhaustion and depletion of donations, we will NOT be taking any new causes. Instead, we will utilize this time to do home visits, update the families that we work with, distribute any leftover donations among them, continue to monitor and stock adopt-a-boxes, etc..
* We will be disabling our Helpline at some point during this process. If you need to reach us between now and December, please do so by email: [email protected] or via our organizations’ page.
* We will conclude this year honoring some of the families that we have worked with, through the spirit of Christmas🎄.
* All year end receipts will be issued by January 31st, 2024. If you would like a receipt issued for the total amount of your monetary donations this year, you MUST inform us in writing privately, by December 1st, 2023. Unfortunately, we will be unable to accommodate requests made after that date.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact us privately.
Thank you to God especially, for these wonderful two years. May He shower each and every one of you with love and blessings always.
You will be missed ☺️
With Love & In Service,
Adopt a Cause
