Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Autumn Pilgrimage House Tour along the James River this past Saturday.

Over 200 guests came to Charles City to tour historic homes and gardens, and we were glad to share them with you.

Thank you to the homeowners who opened their doors.

Thank you to Princess Anne Hunt for the Stirrup Cup and Presentation of the Hounds at Hardin's Bluff, and to Granville for welcoming Martha Washington and every guest who stopped by.

Thank you to our volunteers, docents, and the Westover family, who gave their time and made every stop feel like a welcome.

Every ticket supports the ongoing ministry and mission of Westover Episcopal Church.

See you next autumn (or sooner, service is 10AM every Sunday)!

Fifty Years of Yes!

On September 16, 1976, the Episcopal Church's General Convention voted to open ordination to women.

Two years earlier, eleven women were ordained at Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia on July 29, 1974, paving the way for this vote.

Fifty years later, that decision has shaped the ministry we know today, including the leadership of our own Rev. Becky!

Women now serve as priests, deacons, and bishops across . Their calling has strengthened parishes like Westover for two generations.

Today we give thanks for that vote and for every woman who has answered God's call to Holy Orders since.
