we had a great crowd and a good meal yesterday celebrating Tornado Memories at the community center. There were tears, laughter, many willing to share their experiences about a day no one will ever forget. Many talked of blessings, how they were saved , and about the acts of generosity and help given by family, friends and others they didn’t even know. The Red Cross set up at St. John Lutheran soon after and the Salvation Army also helped in many ways. kCHA and the CCPress were also acknowledged for helping with as much communication they could share at the time and for weeks and months after. We left after 1:30 and there were still people there sharing stories. Everyone knew just where they were and what they were doing that memorable day 58 years ago. it was a special day!!
