Chardon Sharks Swim Team

The Chardon Sharks Swim Team is located in Chardon, Ohio and is for swimmers 5-18 years old CLICK ABOVE TO SIGN UP! Practice will start Monday, June 5th.

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! Ages: 4 - 18 Must be able to complete one length freestyle or backstroke. Date of First Practice: Monday June 5th
Times: Year Round Swimmers: (M-F) 7:00 am- 8:30 am or 8:30am - 9:30am
Newer Swimmers: (Monday-Thursday) 7:00pm to 7:45 pm

Our program is designed to provide the opportunity for young athletes to achieve their ul

timate potential through proper training in a positive, fun and healthy environment. The team competes in the Suburban Swim League (SSL) and comprised of the following teams: Eastlake, Euclid, Highland Hts., Mentor, Pinegate, South Euclid/Lyndhurst, Wickliffe, Willoughby and Willowick. Meets are held every Saturday morning starting June 17th and concluding with the Championship Meet the last weekend of July. The parent meeting for the Sharks will be held: Thursday, June 1st at 6:00 p.m. at Chardon Pool. The summer schedule, practice and other information will be discussed at this time.

1. What was your favorite event to swim when you were on a swim team?

🏅 The 500 Freestyle

2. What made you want to become a swim coach?

❤️ My love for teaching and the strong sense of community that swimming builds.

3. What's one fun fact about yourself that most swimmers don't know?

📚 Coaching has been a big part of my inspiration for going to school to become a teacher!

4. What is your favorite restaurant or sweet treat?

🍦 Anything involving ice cream!

Coach Maddy is one of our awesome 9–10 age group coaches, and we're excited to have her helping our swimmers learn, grow, and have fun this season! 🦈🏊‍♀️

💭 Why did you become a swim coach?

"I always wanted to become a swim coach after starting on the Sharks as an 8-year-old swimmer. I was lucky to have some amazing coaches who inspired me, and I wanted to be just like them. I love swimming and watching young swimmers develop a love for this incredible sport. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have coached this team for the past 12 years."

🎉 Fun fact: "I've been part of the Sharks family for 21 years—first as a swimmer and now as a coach!"

🦈 Attention Shark Families — the 2026 swim season is right around the corner, and we’re excited to kick off another amazing summer together!

We’re currently looking for a few more meet officials to join our team this season. It’s a wonderful way to complete your volunteer requirement, be part of the action on meet days, and support all of our Shark swimmers throughout the summer.

Training is required, and upcoming sessions are available on:

🏊‍♀️🦈 Looking for a fun way to keep your swimmer moving between winter and summer swim season?

The Geauga Y Otters are hosting their first annual Swim Derby on May 2, 2026 from 10:00 AM–Noon, and they’ve offered our Chardon swimmers a $5 discount to join!

This is a great opportunity for swimmers to bridge the gap between winter and summer swim, get extra practice, and stay confident in the water before the summer season begins.

Perfect for swimmers looking for extra pool time, skill-building, and a little friendly competition!

Swimmers must be Level 4 or higher to register.

Thank you to everyone who came out today to walk with the Chardon Sharks Swim Team in the Maple Festival Parade! 🦈💙

We loved seeing our swimmers and families helping pass out candy and flyers and showing off our team spirit. Your support means so much, and we’re grateful for each of you!
