NLC is in urgent need of catfood!!! We are all out!!
You guys know how excited the barncats get when they see a new box in the driveway! They cannot wait for us to open it. The all gather around eagerly awaiting to see what is inside and rub all over the box and the food bag inside!!
We are so grateful and happy for them when the my get food delivered!!
In addition to feeding 100 spayed andneutered TNRVd cats fromerly dumped on the horse property We also feed about twenty cats at the RV.. Only six showed up today because they are probably tucked in someplace warm on the property behind the RV. We think that is where they originate. We believe the elderly owner of the cats is convalescing from an injury/ surgery for over a year now so the cats have been possibly neglected. They could all use portable warm shelters and possibly sterilization. I haven’t seen any pregnant females- and they are semi friendly- so very possibly never been vetted. They may very well be getting enough food on their properly and taking double dips, but we always feel like they can never have too mich when they live outside.
We are in urgent need of catfood. We feed about 20 -30 lbs per day on the horse property - at least- and about 10 lbs per day at the RV.

Boy have I been wrong thinking I get “time for myself” out of the Momster’s trip to Michigan. They are on their way back. I haven’t added more time to my schedule for my own work, but it has been pure bliss homesteading on the farm with the horses cats and dogs for a couple of weeks.
Quiet and peace. I’ve never been a “country girl” or loved rural living but I sure have appreciated the quiet time with the animas on the farm.
I drive out there three times per day to care for the animals, clean the property, do laundry, and collect sick kittens all over property. I brought the slowest ones back to town with me to keep for a few days of bottle feeding as I didn’t have the heart to leave them in the barns in the shape some of them were in.
Every kitten season on the farm I tell myslef to just walk away. Don’t give-in to sick ones -leave them and let nature take them. It’s them, or me. I say this because it takes all of my time and energy to tend to them…and so much heartbreak when you spend days getting them through and then still lose them. Obbvuoisly, I don’t have the will power or I would have been gone already. I have desperately wanted to leave.
When I was really young living in Missouri, my mom and I had jobs showing horses for a wealthy well known horse breeder. We traveled together around the US to major shows and competed against each other (lol) showing horses in western pleasure and hunt seat.
I spent a lot of time at the Missouri barn, of course and never made time for the neglected kittens.
Infact, the last time I was there, I remember turning my back on a sick kitten who desperately needed care. At the time, I felt there was nothing I could do for it, so I left it in the barn. I suppose that one event has haunted me all of my mature life.
So I didnt always want to be a cat rescuer, I have just not been able to walk away. from the ones on the momster’s place. The problem here is that the supply habit is a manipulation tactic that I have learned about. I’m not a fast learner, and being around abusive people has helped me to understand, they don’t want the problem solved. It is more beneficial for them to keep the chaos going and to keep me busy than to let me solve the problem.
So, I’m at the end of this lesson, and looking back and shaking my head. Why did I let anyone put me through so much pain. And so much work, mostly, for naught.
Full steam ahead now to get these kittens rehomed. The faster I get this work done, the sooner I can finally close this chapter and get back to living life the way I want to. Without chaos, disorder, manipulations, fighting and just overall daily discord. I know it’s coming, and I have to get this work done in spite of all of this.
