Leadership Logan’s third session focused on Healthcare, and it was an incredible day filled with insight, education, and meaningful conversation about the future of healthcare in our region. 🩺💙

The class heard from Jim Kaufman, President and CEO of the West Virginia Hospital Association, who spoke on workforce shortages, retaining highly qualified healthcare professionals, and the importance of collaboration to help strengthen and stabilize hospitals across West Virginia.

Participants also received hands-on training during an interactive “Stop the Bleed” workshop led by Brandie Davis Perry, Trauma Coordinator at Logan Regional Medical Center.

The day continued with discussions on emergency transportation and response from Roger Bryant, Executive Director of the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority, and Justin Spence with Air Evac Lifeteam. 🚑

The session concluded with a healthcare panel moderated by Justin Turner, CEO of Logan Regional Medical Center, featuring:

Leadership Logan – City & County Government

Today's session provided a deeper understanding of how our local government operates, along with an introduction to the dedicated individuals who make it all happen. From law enforcement and the courts to elected officials, we gained a new appreciation for the leadership, collaboration, and the commitment it takes to serve our communities.

We were honored to hear from an incredible lineup of leaders who shared real insight, experience, and perspective:

Last Thursday, the Logan County Chamber of Commerce had the privilege of celebrating with Southern West Virginia Health System at the grand opening and ribbon cutting of their new Medical Pharmacy in Delbarton, WV 🎉✂️

It’s always exciting to see growth happening right here in our rural communities—especially when it means better access to healthcare and shorter travel times for our residents.
