The Care-A-Van will be at the Spencer County Animal Shelter Sept. 29th, 2023! Sept. 29th, 2023, will be a wellness and vaccination day! Please share share share so we can help as many in the community as possible!!!
Folks can see all the prices and click through to enroll online at this link: https://www.kyhumane.org/services/khs-care-a-van/. They will need to select Basic Wellness (Outside Jefferson County) to see the Spencer County dates. Once they complete their online registration, they will get a confirmation email that includes specific directions.
The CARE-a-van is a mobile veterinary clinic that is currently offering low-cost, drive through wellness services both locally in Louisville and in other communities throughout the state where access to veterinary care is limited.
Clients book an appointment online, selecting their desired services, and are asked to pay a $5 deposit at the time of booking. The remainder of their fees will be charged at the time services are rendered. This allows us to maximize the number of clients served each day by reducing administrative work at the time of the appointment.
The CARE-a-van offers core vaccines for dogs and cats, flea and tick preventatives, heartworm testing and preventatives, microchipping, and nail trims.
Clients remain in their car throughout the appointment and animals are brought onto the CARE-a-van by one of our vet techs and returned to the car once services are rendered. Dogs are slip leashed for safety and cat owners are asked to bring cats in a secure carrier (KHS can provide carriers if the client arrives without one).
