In collaboration with Nemours, our team recently published a new paper in Childhood Obesity sharing results from the Better Together initiative.

Better Together provided participating ECE programs with resources, training, technical assistance, and support to help create healthier environments for young children through improved nutrition and physical activity practices.

Programs participating in the initiative showed meaningful improvements in evidence-based practices, highlighting the impact that dedicated educators and strong support systems can have on child health and wellness.

Thank you to the educators, partners, and state leaders who helped make this work possible!

At Go NAPSACC, we love seeing how educators are putting tools into action in meaningful, practical ways.

Lisa from Lisa’s Home Day Care in Indiana shared how the Social Emotional module helped her and her team create clear, developmentally appropriate rules, routines, and procedures for her toddlers and preschoolers. Using the module guidance, her program established four core rules to support classroom expectations, introduced a visual daily schedule to support young children’s understanding and independence, and is now expanding this work into a formal Social Emotional policy for her handbook.

Stories like this highlight how small, intentional changes can strengthen daily practices and support development in early childhood settings.
