As you may have heard, Recruitment 2017 had to be rescheduled due to an outbreak last week of norovirus. Panhellenic scheduled Recruitment for this week, and the sisters need our help!

Hey y'all! They are looking for chaperones for events this semester. Here is a note from the Social Chair:

Hi ladies! My name is Julia Maguire and I'm Epsilon Gamma Chapter's Event Chair for the year 2017. Because we require at least 2 chaperones for each social event that we have and our advisors are very busy, I wanted to reach out to you all to see if anyone would be interested! The only requirements for this are that you are at least 25 years old and at least 4 years out of Kappa. At these events, we essentially just need you to be there in case of an emergency, but 99% of the time you will just be hanging out at the event! If you would like to chaperone, you are more than welcome to bring your significant other or to reach out to any of your kappa alumni friends and ask them to chaperone with you. Here is a list of our upcoming events, and I have attached a document for you to put your information in if you are available for any of the events. Thanks so much!
-February 23rd, Mixer with Pi Lam, Might As Well Bar and Grill, 9pm-11pm- This event is this week so I understand that it is very last minute and if no one is available I totally understand. We do only need one more chaperone for this event though, so if you are available please come out and meet our sisters at the event this Thursday!
-March 9th, Mixer with Sig Ep, The Library, Time TBD (Either 10pm-1am or 11pm-2am)
-March 30th, Mixer with KA, Pantana Bob's, Time TBD (most likely 10pm-1am)
-April 21st, Pre-Formal Cocktail, Country Fried Duck, 4pm-7pm
-April 22nd, Formal Cocktail, Top of the Hill, 11pm-2am

Local Kappa's!
Don't forget tomorrow's Open house mock round from 2-3PM at the UNC KKG chapter house.

Friends, families, and alumnae are all invited! Afterwards, the chapter will host a cookout to thank everyone for coming. They are looking for a lot of participants so that every active can practice her conversation skills.

The Epsilon Gamma Chapter is hosting an alumnae tea at the Carolina Inn (so fancy!) in March to benefit their new RIF project 'COVER to COVER' to supply a Thomasville Primary school with enough books to send each child home with at least 5 books over the summer! Please join me in supporting them!

Registration for the annual Carolina Women in Business Conference is now live! This year's theme is Next-Generation Business Equality: Moving Beyond the “What Is” to What Could Be.”

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Kappa sisters have been directly affected by the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday. Many have asked, "what can I do to help?"

Kappa is accepting condolence cards, letters and notes of support so that we may pass them along to the Kappa families affected by the tragedy. Although suffering unspeakable loss, perhaps knowing that there are more than 180,000 sisters around the world supporting them, this grieving mother, a loving teacher, and family members will be comforted by your words. If you wish to send a note of support, please address them to Fraternity Headquarters.

Kappa reached a membership milestone over the weekend when 30 chapters conducted initiation, bringing the total number of initiated members to more than 250,000!
