On this National Day of Mourning for Jimmy Carter, the WSBC Voices for Love in Action mission group honors this kind and humble man whose remarkable life of public service grew directly out of his deep and abiding faith. We thank God for President Carter and his tireless work for peace, conflict resolution, human rights, democracy, disease eradication, racial justice, education, the environment, affordable housing, and alleviating human suffering. Jimmy Carter was the best kind of Baptist, a model of James 2:17, and a true Voice for Love in Action!

Experience the Good News of Advent by choosing a reflections guide for yourself or your family. This beautiful book, All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings, the Children’s Edition resonates with lovers of Creation especially during dark times in the life of our civilization and our Earth. It tells the stories of 24 amazing woodland creatures – one for each day of Advent – and how they adapt to the cold and the dark. Each story repeats the refrain, “The dark is not an end. It’s a door. It’s the way a new beginning comes.” The stories reflect the perspective of Meister Eckhart, 12th century Catholic priest and mystic, who said, “Every single creature is full of God and is a book about God.”
