Low-wage workers of color are the most vulnerable to heat-related illnesses and injuries. The jobs with the highest-heat risks are disproportionately held by Black and brown people, many of whom are immigrants. Let’s ensure heat safeguards in the workplace for all workers.

Even non-fatal heat illnesses can cause severe damage to our bodies. It’s time for North Carolina to adopt a heat stress prevention standard and emergency response procedures. We must protect workers.

"Healthcare has long understood that every intervention carries benefits, costs, and unintended consequences. AI should be treated no differently. As health systems, clinicians, technology companies, and policymakers shape the next generation of healthcare infrastructure, they should evaluate not only what AI can do for patients, but also what its physical footprint means for the communities those patients call home."

A really great read on the key concerns and regulatory opportunities surrounding the expansion of AI in health care. Check it out:

Or perhaps patients and communities will.
