Leaf Peeping on the Cane Creek Mountains - Bird's Eye View 🍁🍂

Join NCWF Triad Wild and Tri-County Conservationists Chapters for a joint nature walk at Cane Creek Mountain! This afternoon hike will coincide with peak fall colors. The focus for this 2.5 mile hike is on getting to the tower at the summit and ascending through the autumn canopy to get a panoramic view of fall colors, plus a view of downtown Greensboro in the distance! Fall bird migration will still be ongoing but winding down, so we will possibly see migratory birds along the way.

We're having a native plant sale!!🌻🌼🌸🌱

When: Saturday, September 5th from 12-2pm at Wild Birds Unlimited

Join NCWF Tri-County Conservationists Chapter for a native plant sale at Wild Bird Unlimited in Chapel Hill. All profits will go toward supplies and native plants for our restoration projects in Orange, Chatham, and Alamance counties.

We will have Purple Coneflower, Columbine, Scutellaria, Blue Lobelia, Green and Gold, Dwarf tickseed, Golden Groundset, Brown-Eyed Susan, Aromatic Aster, Yarrow, Virginia Sweetspire, and St. John’s Wort, Swamp Milkweed, Orange Coneflower, Blazing Star, Wrinkle Leaf Goldenrod, and Wild Bergamot sourced locally from chapter leaders or from Mellow Marsh Farm.

There will be low prices for the smaller plants and the smallest will be free with a purchase. Come and stock up for fall planting!

Join NCWF Tri-County Conservationists Chapter for a guided walk at Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area.🪨🌳🐦

When: Sunday, August 23rd from 4:30 - 7:00 PM
Where: Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area (Hillsborough)

This 2.7-mile loop will take participants up to an overlook with views of an old quarry site, the Eno River, and the Town of Hillsborough. This gem of a site boasts summer tanagers and vireos in tranquil woodland trails circling the mountain and is graced by goldfinch and woodpecker calls. With the highest elevation in the Triangle, the history, both anthropological and natural, of this area is as rich as the minerals it is compiled of.

Calling all teens! Join NCWF Tri-County Conservationists Chapter and RewildNC for an invasive removal and venturing crew recruiting event. The Tri-County Conservationists are launching a new program to engage conservation-minded youth ages 14-20 in partnership with Scouting America. Interested youth will come together to plan conservation events, like invasive removals, under the name Venturing Crew3. This is their first event! Volunteers will help save trees by removing invasive Chinese wisteria. This event is open to all ages, but we would love to see the next generation of conservationists turn out in full force!

Are you between the ages of 14 and 20 and interested in wildlife conservation? Do you have young adults in your life that are motivated to lead local conservation efforts? Join Venturing Crew 3 and become a leader for local wildlife conservation! This new youth-focused partnership between the Tri-County Conservationists and Scouting America aims to attract future leaders in local environmental and wildlife conservation.

Join us for another oases workday!

With the help of many volunteers in the rain and cold, we have finished this season's planting of over 500 native plants in Brumley South! Join us once again as we fence our 8th Oasis! Last weekend we planted 130 natives here, so come lend a hand before the deer help themselves to our plants! We hope you can join us :)
