It's today. Stadium at 5 for the kids — inflatables, NCCC cheer painting faces, games. Kickoff after, with your game ticket covered by Foundation sponsor Bridgewood Cabinetry. Santa Fe Park at 8:30 for everybody else. Bring a chair and a cooler. The trucks have dinner. Villains Dance has the rest.

Last call on the food drive — bring food to the stadium tonight. It goes to a local pantry, and Independence is counting theirs right now.

If you grabbed a breakfast ticket for tomorrow, it's on your phone. Doors at 8, ceremony at 9. See you in the morning. 💙

5:00 PM — Family tailgate opens at the stadium. Four inflatables, face painting by NCCC cheer, games. Free.

Halftime — Hall of Fame Class of 2026 honored on the field.

Friday night at halftime, five names get called on the field that a lot of Chanute already knows by heart.

Wayne McDaniel. Casey Finley. Jeff Williams. Mike Sutcliffe. Thad Clements.

If you played for them, with them, or just grew up hearing about them — be in the stands. Then come see them inducted Saturday morning at 9 at the SEK Impact Center.

Friday's band is Villains Dance — the 80s arena rock show out of Kansas City. Big hair, bigger choruses, the whole windows-down decade.

They go on at 8:30 at Santa Fe Park, right after the Homecoming game. Free show.

Reminder on how the park works: bring a chair, bring your own drinks, and the food trucks handle dinner. Red Beard, Big Time Munchies, and the Two Brothers Farm Chuckwagon will all be there.

Chanute Student Council is running a food drive at Friday's Homecoming game — and we're going head to head with Independence.

Here's how it works: bring food to donate to the stadium Friday night. They're counting theirs. We're counting ours. The winner gets announced at Independence's game the following week.

Every bit of what we collect goes to a local food pantry, right here in town.

So. Are we losing to Independence?

Grab a few things on your next grocery run and leave them in the car so you don't forget. Then come on out — family tailgate at 5, kickoff after that, Hall of Fame Class of 2026 honored at halftime, and the All-Class Reunion at Santa Fe Park at 8:30.

Here's exactly what your $20 Hall of Fame ticket covers Saturday morning:

• Breakfast — casserole, fruit, and cinnamon rolls, served from 8 to 9
• A seat for the induction ceremony at 9
• Coffee, and a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar (donations accepted)
• A front-row look at five Comets getting the recognition they earned

One thing to know: ticket sales close Thursday evening. We hand the headcount to the kitchen Friday morning, so that's the cutoff.
