Chanute Elks Lodge 806 Chanute Lodge was instituted on August 6, 1902, with 38 charter members. J.N.

McDonald was the first E.R.There have been three State Presidents from Chanute, Raymond Friederich (1974-75), Herb Matlock (1997-98), and Frank Springer (2005-06) The Elks Lodge promotes benevolent, educational and patriotic community minded programs such as scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, a national Hoop Shoot free-throw contest and Soccer Shoot. The Elks in Chanute also sponsors a fishin

g derby, Easter Egg hunt and other youth programs. All Elks Clubs are known for Flag Day celebrations, veterans' works, and other patriotic programs.

Calling all high school seniors: the application for the 2027 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is NOW OPEN!

We will award 500 scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $30,000 over four years. No relation to the Elks is necessary to apply.

With this scholarship, students gain more than just financial aid—they gain an appreciation of service, a network of like-minded peers, and an for life.

It's been awhile since we've been able to offer a local lodge scholarship, but are proud to be able to again this year. In order to continue to award scholarships in the future, we will need to keep raising funds so be on the lookout for upcoming fundraisers. Also, when you renew your dues please consider making an additional donation to the scholarship fund. As always, we greatly appreciate your continued support because Elks Share Elks Care!
