வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் அகாடமி தனது 17-வது கல்வியாண்டின் துவக்கத்தை அறிவிப்பதில் பெருமிதம் கொள்கிறது. முதல் நாளில் 470-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்களை மகிழ்வோடு வரவேற்றோம். ஃபேர்ஃபாக்ஸ் கவுண்டி மேற்பார்வையாளர்கள் வாரியத்தின் துணைத் தலைவர் திருமதி கேத்தி ஸ்மித் மற்றும் ஃபேர்ஃபாக்ஸ் கவுண்டி பொதுப் பள்ளிகளின் கண்காணிப்பாளர் முனைவர் மிஷெல் ரீட் ஆகியோர் நமது வகுப்பறைகளைப் பார்வையிட்டு, மாணவர்களுடனும் ஆசிரியர்களுடனும் கலந்துரையாடியது எங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த நற்பேறாகும். தமிழ்மொழிக் கல்வியை முன்னெடுத்துச் செல்வதில் தொடர்ந்து ஆதரவும் அர்ப்பணிப்பும் வழங்கி வரும் பெற்றோர், மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் தன்னார்வலர்களுக்கு எங்களது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம்.

🌟 Strengthening Tamil Education Through Teacher Training 🌟

Valluvan Tamil Academy successfully conducted a two-day Teacher Training Program on August 8th and 9th, 2026, in Chantilly, VA, led by Prof. Ela Sundaram.

With his exceptional expertise in Tamil language and teacher education, Prof. Sundaram provided valuable training to nearly 60 Tamil teachers from schools across the DC metropolitan area. We were also happy to welcome teachers from other Tamil schools, creating a wonderful opportunity to collaborate, learn, and share best practices.

A special highlight of the program was the participation of Valluvan Tamil Academy alumni—former students who are now serving as teachers and volunteers. Their involvement reflects the strong connection and continued commitment of our alumni to Tamil education. They actively participated in the training and gained valuable knowledge and teaching techniques that they can carry forward to the next generation.

The program featured hands-on teaching techniques, live teaching aids, interactive presentations, and immediate feedback, helping participants develop practical and engaging approaches to teaching Tamil grammar, language, and culture.

At Valluvan Tamil Academy, we continuously strive to strengthen and improve our teaching practices through ongoing teacher training, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and effective teaching methodologies.

Remembering Our Treasurer, Sathguru Dhandapani at US Capital, Washington DC

A beautiful and deeply deserved tribute was paid to the late Sathguru Dhandapani at the U.S. Capitol recently. We express our sincere thanks to Congressman Suhas Subramanyam for honoring Sathguru’s life and legacy on the House floor.

As an engineer at Visa and the dedicated Treasurer of the Valluvan Tamil Academy, Sathguru was a pillar of support for families, arts, and culture across the DMV area. He will be profoundly missed by the many lives and children he impacted.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

மிகுந்த கனத்த இதயத்துடன், எங்கள் அன்பு நண்பர், சகோதரர், நம் வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் மையத்தின் தூணாக இருந்த சத்குரு தண்டபாணி (50) அவர்களின் திடீர் மறைவுச் செய்தியை அளவிட முடியாத துயரத்துடனும் வேதனையுடனும் பகிர்ந்து கொள்கிறோம்.

ஜூலை 6ஆம் தேதி இரவு நேரத்தில் சத்குரு அவர்கள் ஒரு பெரிய விபத்தில் சிக்கினார். மருத்துவர்களின் பராமரிப்பில், போராடி வந்த அவர் சிகிச்சை பலனின்றி ஜூலை 9ஆம் தேதி, விர்ஜீனியாவின் Fairfax Inova Hospital இல் இயற்கை எய்தினார்.
சத்குரு அவர்கள், பேரன்பும், அளவற்ற சமூக அக்கறையும் கொண்ட உயர்ந்த மனிதர். எளிதில் அனைவரிடமும் பழகக்கூடிய பண்பாளர், எளிமையானவர். அவரது பிரிவு, அவருடைய இல்லத்தில் மட்டுமல்லாமல் வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் மையத்திலும், நம்முடைய இப்பகுதி தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்திலும் சொல்ல முடியாத வெற்றிடத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

சத்குரு அவர்களின் சமூகப் பணி அளவிட முடியாதது. விர்ஜீனியா, மேரிலாண்ட், DC பகுதிகளில் உள்ள நம் தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்திற்காக தன்னை அர்ப்பணித்துக் கொண்டவர். பல ஆண்டுகளாக வள்ளுவன் தமிழ்ப் பள்ளியின் (Valluvan Tamil Academy) தன்னார்வலராக வும், கடந்த இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாக நிர்வாகக் குழுவில் பொருளாளராகவும் தன்னலமின்றி பணியாற்றி, நம் பள்ளியின் வளர்ச்சிக்கும், சமூக வளர்ச்சிக்கும், பண்பாட்டு வேர்களுக்கும் அளப்பரிய நேரத்தை அர்ப்பணித்தார். அவரது மனைவி ராஜாம்பாள் அவர்கள் வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் மையத்தின் ஆசிரியையாகவும், சிறப்பு வகுப்புகளின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளராகவும், பல்வேறு கலை மற்றும் கலாச்சார நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் பள்ளி மாணாக்கரைத் தயார் செய்யவும் பல ஆண்டுகளாக ஆற்றிவரும் அருந்தொண்டுக்கு சத்குரு அவர்கள் பக்கபலமாகவும் உறுதுணையாகவும் இருந்தாரென்றால் அது மிகையாகாது. இணையர்கள் இருவரும் தாம் மட்டுமன்றி தம் குழந்தைகள் இருவரையும் பல்வேறு தன்னார்வலப் பணிகளில் ஈடுபடுத்தி வந்துள்ளனர்.

இசையை அளவற்ற அன்புடன் நேசித்தவர் சத்குரு. DMV பகுதியில் நடைபெறும் பல்வேறு அமைப்புகளின் இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்கு அவர் எப்போதும் உற்சாகமான ஆதரவாளராக இருந்தார்.

அவரை இழந்து வாடும் அவர் குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்கள் அவரின் அன்பு மனைவி ராஜாம்பாள் , மற்றும் அவர்களின் இரண்டு இளம் மகள்கள் ( வயது 20 மற்றும் 15), உறவினர்கள், நண்பர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் இத்தருணத்தில், வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் பள்ளி குடும்பமாக துணை நின்று அவர்களின் துயரத்தில் பங்கெடுப்போம். அவர் இதயம் அமைதி பெற இறைவனை வேண்டுவோம்.

வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் மையம் கனத்த இதயத்துடன் ஆழ்ந்த கண்ணீர் அஞ்சலியை செலுத்துகிறது. இறுதிச்சடங்கு விவரங்கள் விரைவில் பகிரப்படும்.

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we share the tragic news of the sudden passing of our dear friend, leader, and community pillar, Sathguru Dhandapani (50).

On the late night of July 6th, Sathguru was involved in a major accident. He fought bravely under the care of doctors, but on July 9th, at Fairfax Inova Hospital in Virginia, Bhagavan ultimately absorbed his noble soul into eternal peace.

Sathguru was a man full of life, warmth, and boundless generosity. His departure leaves an unimaginable void in his home. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Rajee, and their two young daughters (ages 21 and 18), who are now trying to navigate a future completely altered without their guiding light.

Sathguru’s impact on everyone around him was profound. He poured his heart into our community across the Virginia, Maryland, and DC areas. He selflessly served as the Treasurer for the Valluvan Tamil Academy for the past few years, dedicating countless hours to supporting our community's families and cultural roots.

Sathguru possessed a deep love for music and was a constant, passionate supporter of various organizational concerts across the DMV area.

அமெரிக்காவில் 'வள்ளுவன் தெரு'.. நூலகங்களில் தமிழ் நூல்கள்! - தமிழ் மையத்தின் 16 ஆண்டு சாதனைப் பயணம்!

அமெரிக்க நூலகங்களில் தமிழ் நூல்களைக் கொண்டு வந்தது, பொங்கல் மற்றும் திருவள்ளுவர் நாட்களுக்கு அரசு அங்கீகாரம் பெற்றது, மற்றும் 'வள்ளுவன் தெரு'வை உருவாக்கியது எனப் புலம்பெயர்ந்த மண்ணில் இம்மையம் நிகழ்த்திய வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புமிக்க முன்னெடுப்புகள்.

ஆண்டுக்கு ஏறக்குறைய 500இல் இருந்து 750 வரை என ஆயிரக்க்கணக்கான மாணவர்களுக்கு தமிழ்க் கல்வி வழங்கிவருகின்ற இப்பள்ளி, முழுவதும் தன்னார்வல ஆசிரியர்கள், பெற்றோர், முன்னாள் மாணவர்கள் மற்றும் தன்னார்வலர்களின் அர்ப்பணிப்பால் மிகச்சிறப்பாக வளர்ந்து வருகிறது.

வள்ளுவன் தமிழ்மையம் அமெரிக்க அரசோடு ஒருங்கிணைந்து அமெரிக்க நூலகங்களில் தமிழ் நூல்களை அரசு அனுமதியுடன் செயல்படுத்தியது, அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட பொங்கல் சிறப்பு நாள், திருவள்ளுவர் நாள் கொண்டுவந்தது, ‘வள்ளுவன் தெரு’ கொண்டுவந்தது போன்ற சில சிறப்பு முன்னெடுப்புகளையும் எடுத்ததும் குறிப்பிடத்தகுந்த முன்னெடுப்புகளாகும்..

இவ்வாண்டு விழாவில் பல தலைமுறைகளைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள், பெற்றோர்கள், ஆசிரியர்கள் மற்றும் சமூக ஆர்வலர்கள் இணைந்து பங்கேற்றது பள்ளியின் தாக்கத்தையும் வளர்ச்சியையும் வெளிப்படுத்தியது.
“பதினாறு செல்வங்கள்” என்ற கருப்பொருளில் நடைபெற்ற விழாவில் மாணவர்களின் கலைநிகழ்ச்சிகள், கருத்தரங்கங்கள், பட்டமளிப்பு விழா, உலக மொழித் தேர்வில் வெற்றி பெற்ற மாணவர்களுக்கான பாராட்டு நிகழ்வுகள் இடம்பெற்றன. தமிழ் மொழித் திறன் மட்டுமல்லாமல், மேடைப்பேச்சு, தலைமைத்துவம், சமூகப் பொறுப்பு மற்றும் பண்பாட்டு அடையாளம் ஆகியவற்றையும் மாணவர்களிடம் வளர்த்தெடுத்து வருவதை இந்நிகழ்ச்சி எடுத்துக்காட்டியது.
அரசு, கல்வி மற்றும் தமிழ் சமூகத்தின் முக்கிய பிரமுகர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு பள்ளியின் பணியைப் பாராட்டினர். “தமிழ்மொழி கற்பித்தல் மட்டுமல்ல; தமிழ்ப் பண்பாட்டுத் தலைமுறைகளை உருவாக்குதல்” என்ற உயரிய நோக்குடன் செயல்படும் வள்ளுவன் தமிழ் மையத்தின் 16 ஆண்டுகால பயணம், அமெரிக்க வாழ் தமிழர்களுக்கு பெருமை சேர்க்கும் ஒரு சமூக சாதனையாக திகழ்கிறது.
