True Patriots at a young age!
I wanted to share this photo I captured of the sweetedt moment today. I live in front of the channahon state park and my daughter and her friend were outside jumping on the trampoline this morning. As soon as The National Anthem began, they stopped what they were doing, completely on their own, to stand and put their hands over their hearts during the song. I happened to walk out back to start some yard work and was able to quickly get this photo at the tail end. How sweet was that? They're 9 & 10 and clearly have more respect than some adults out in the world ❤️❤️❤️ They are both in 4th grade at Pioneer Path here in Channahon! Really nice kids.

The Prairie State Road Runners kicked off our 2026 circuit yesterday at The Frozen Gnome! We went off road for this trail 10k that was more muddy than frozen this year, and we had 30 members conquer the hilly technical terrain 🙌!
We’ll return to the roads for the rest of the year with 23 circuit races still remaining ranging in distance from 1 mile to half marathon.
Still plenty of time to join and plenty of circuit races left! Members who receive 7 circuit credits will earn a circuit award and are eligible for challenge and achievement awards.
Whether you’re working towards your first 5k or thinking about trying ultra running, you’ll find a fun, supportive, and active community in Prairie State Road Runners.
