"After about six weeks during his NICU stay, our credit card bill arrived, and we spent nearly $2,000 just for parking," the foundation's founder said.

I recently learned so much about the Illinois Safe Haven Law. I'm hoping to share information on my platform to be able to reach those who may not know the full details about how it works. If you could share too I would be so thankful 🩷🩵

NO SHAME. NO BLAME. NO NAMES.

Sometimes people make decisions under circumstances they never imagined facing.

Illinois' Safe Haven Law provides a safe and legal option for a parent who cannot care for an unharmed newborn.

Under the law, a parent may choose to remain anonymous when safely relinquishing the baby.

There is no need to explain your situation on social media.
There is no need to face the crisis alone.
There is a safe place for your baby.

No Shame. No Blame. No Names.

If you know someone who may need this information, quietly share this post with them.

Such a sad day in our local community. Thank you to all of the nurses and staff at Joe's for supporting Sawyer's Heart over the years 🩷🩵

“I am deeply concerned by the closure of the NICU and OB unit at St. Joe’s Hospital and the impact this decision will have on the nurses who have dedicated themselves to caring for patients and families in our community." Story is shared below in the comments field.

On April 6, 1983, a baby boy was found abandoned at an interstate 70 rest area. The identity of the boy and his parents were never discovered. He was laid to rest at Saint Anthony Cemetery in Effingham, Illinois. Today we remember this sweet baby boy. May he rest in peace🙏🕯️🕊️🥺

So perfectly and beautifully said

There is a part of Dolly Parton’s story that I think deserves to be spoken about.

For all the extraordinary things she achieved, there was one thing she had once imagined for her life that never came to be.

Dolly never had children.

She lived with endometriosis and endured years of painful health struggles, eventually undergoing a partial hysterectomy. She had spoken about believing that she and her beloved husband Carl would have children, even imagining what they might call them.

But that part of the future she had pictured never came.

And I think that matters.

Because there are so many women, and couples, who know the quiet grief of longing for a child who never arrives.

Sometimes, when someone has a full or successful life, we almost expect everything they do have to somehow make up for what they don’t.

But grief doesn’t work like that.

You can be deeply grateful for your life and still grieve the life you thought you would have.

You can know enormous joy and still carry an absence.

You can make peace with what happened, while knowing you would once have chosen a very different ending.

There is something incredibly moving about what Dolly did with all the love she had to give.

She poured so much of herself into children, her family, and through her Imagination Library, into the lives of millions of children around the world.

Not because any of them could replace the children she had once imagined having.

But because love doesn’t disappear simply because it cannot go where we hoped it would.

Sometimes, somehow, it finds somewhere else to go.

And perhaps that is one of the quieter lessons in Dolly’s remarkable life.

A life can hold an enormous absence and still become extraordinarily full.

For anyone whose family didn’t become the family they once dreamed of, I’m thinking of you.

There are many ways to nurture, many ways to make a difference, and so many ways for our love to live beyond us.

Dolly showed us that beautifully.

Zoe ❤️❤️

🩷🩵 It's hard to believe but 16 years ago today, Sawyer's Heart Project was born when another couple lost their precious baby girl. The idea to make memory boxes was in my heart at the time, but I had no idea where to start...until this moment happened. I will never forget the people and community who supported me in those early years of trying to get this idea off the ground - to be able to support other families at a time of great pain and loss. Without all of you, I wouldn't be able to do any of this 🩷🩵
