Through their hard work and dedication, they prepared and delivered food packages for 100 families, spreading joy, care, and a sense of community during this season of giving.

The Smile Donor Youth Committee is always looking for opportunities to serve communities locally or in different parts of the world. Recently, the Youth Committee took the initiative to organize a food packing event at Feed My Starving Children in Mesa, Arizona. 14 Smile Donor team members from the Youth Committee and the Board packed 720 nourishing meals in 20 boxes in under 2 hours! The team’s effort is going to make a difference in the lives of so many children!

Hats off to our amazing Youth Chapter for championing numerous drives to collect and distribute food packages for the Chandler, Arizona community. Recently, the team dedicated their time and effort for a food bag packaging effort for the Chandler CARE Center🌟 Their dedication and enthusiasm made a positive impact on tens of families! Smile Donor is taking action to support those impacted by COVID-19 in India by supporting established nonprofit organizations based out of India. Our first partnership is with Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care –USA (SRLC). SRLC has pledged to provide hospital beds, ventilators, and other life-saving resources at two facilities in underserved communities in Gujarat, India. SRLC’s goal is to support the operations of 200 beds at these COVID facilities. Smile Donor would like to support SRLC’s goal by committing to help 20 patients at these COVID facilities, which requires us to raise at least $10,000.

Kudos to the Smile Donor Youth team for hosting the Hamilton High School Student Welfare Charity Hike this past weekend. We had some wonderful weather and a great turnout! We look forward to seeing everyone at the Hamilton High School Student Welfare Charity Hike on Sat., Nov. 16th. Join us anytime between 7:00am and 10:00am. There may be limited parking at the trail head so please park at Altadena Middle School (14620 S. Desert Foothills Parkway, Phoenix, 85048) in the Smile Donor Park and Ride Area. Once you park there will be Smile Donor Youth Volunteers to help direct you to the shuttles that will take you straight to the trails. See you all on Saturday!

Smile Donor was recently involved in a project called, “Heels for Wheels” where funds were raised to provide wheelchairs to people in Karnataka, India, through the ProVision Asia organization. This gift of mobility has brought hope to so many people with disabilities. Approximately 1 in 2,000 people are affected by lack of mobility in rural and urban areas of India, and Smile Donor has decided to be a part of this solution by providing funds for these much-needed wheelchairs. Smile Donor would like to share the story of Shankar, a recipient of the funds raised by this project.

Shankar had a paralytic stroke when he was 15 years old while he was working as an electrician to help support his family. Shankar lived by himself and hasn’t been to step foot outside his house for almost 17 years. Shankar has not felt the sun’s beams hit his face and has not been able to get drenched from a monsoon rain in all this time. ProVision brought him to their camp, greeted him with a warm smile, and provided him a wheelchair. This gift has given Shankar his life back as he is now mobile, and has recently started a small business to support his family. It is truly amazing how one piece of equipment can make such a big impact in someone’s life.

Smile Donor is extremely happy and humbled to help many people like Shankar regain their life back.

4 years ago when we started supporting children with various disabilities in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh, India, all we had was a small room with one educator. Today, we have 4 educators and classrooms with all the facilities needed to support the development of these children with disabilities. This has been possible with all the support that we have received from all of you. It is indeed wonderful to see these children dance, learn, and become more independent in their daily tasks.
