S.A.C.R.E.D. Ministries

S.A.C.R.E.D. Ministries S.A.C.R.E.D. is a lay Apostolate. I. To Reverence of the Kingdom of God through the Sacraments, and contemplative and liturgical prayer. II. Practice modesty.

We are a program of the outreach of Make an Investment in Love and Kindness a 501(c)(3) Charity.“Leading people on a journey of faith through sacrifice, adoration, Christ, reverence, evangelization, and discernment.” Purpose and Nature

This Community of laity in an apostolate whose members under Lumen Gentium, 42 are seeking to live life in a way that effectively challenges worldly values preval

ent in every age. We are united through personal and communal spiritual values to Jesus Christ, our Savior, through Service and Adoration of the Eucharistic and also the gift of life, devotion to and imitation of Our Lady Saint Mary, Saint Joseph her most chaste spouse, our patron Saints, and love for the Church and loyalty to the Holy Father, in order to better know and understand Christ. To Evangelize and follow our call from Baptism, and Discern the will of God. It is our hope that, despite our inconsistencies and weaknesses, we may present to our Christian sisters and brothers and to all others of the world a prophetic witness of Christ’s teaching that life is a pilgrimage of committed faith, trusting hope, and effective love of God and neighbor through the work of the Holy Spirit. Rule of Life

Our Rule and Life as a Disciple is to observe the Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience, with property provided through the will of God, and in chastity. Our obedience and reverence to our Holy Father the Pope and his successors, and to the Roman Catholic Church, our Diocesan Bishop, and our Parish Pastor. Chapter II S.A.C.R.E.D Life

Anyone who wishes to adopt life in S.A.C.R.E.D. must examine their Catholic Faith and a Sacramental life in the Church. If they believe in all teachings of the Church and will faithfully profess and steadfastly observe them to the end then they must fill out an application as a Brother and Sister Evangelizing. Once the application has been scrutinized and all requirements of the local Diocese observed one may start their faith journey of Service, Adoration, Christ, Reverence, Evangelization, and Discernment. Chapter III Prayer, fasting, and how to go about the world. It is highly recommended that everyone develop a habit of reciting the Liturgy of the Hours in the morning and evening. The Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Church. As one Body in Christ we pray. The Holy Rosary, The Chapel of Divine Mercy, The Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, the Angelus, and Saint Michael’s prayer are recommended devotions along with contemplative prayer that keeps our focus on a Holy existence in the world. When out in the world, one should not quarrel nor dispute, nor judge others; but be meek, peaceful, modest, gentle and humble, speaking courteously to everyone, as is becoming. We must be thankful for all materialistic possessions, and remember that all is a gift. Constant discernment will lead you to God's will in such possessions. Materialistic items are those that do not sustain life. Luxuries do not matter and should be willingly given to those who need them more than us. As we journey with Christ our greed changes to giving. Whatever house we enter, we shall first pray “Peace be to this house,” and, according to the Holy Gospel, partake of whatever food is set before us. All interactions should be sought with Glory for God as the outcome. Christ said, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Chapter IV Working and receiving money
We shall work faithfully and devotedly, to support our families and to bring Christ to the world. It is wise to avoid idleness, the enemy of the soul. In payment for work, we must receive whatever is necessary for the bodily support, and of our families. This should be done humbly as we become servants of God and followers of most holy poverty, trusting in God's providence and support. Chapter V Ask for alms to benefit the poor and sick. We should give up wholly to, never seeking anything under heaven. We should appropriate nothing for ourselves, but go seeking alms with confidence for the poor. It is important to make a living and support our families. Trusting in God he will provide. We must practice tithing. Scripture tells us that 10% is customary. Charity should be measured by how much is left not how much you gave. Every material deed that benefits our needy brothers and sisters is almsgiving. No one should be ashamed; our Lord for our sakes, made Himself poor in this world. We strive to imitate Christ in love and action. "This is that sublime height of most exalted poverty which has made you, my most beloved brothers, heirs and kings of the Kingdom of Heaven, which has made you poor in temporal things, but exalted you in virtue. Let this be your portion which leads into the Land of the Living. "-Saint Francis of Assisi

In order to show love we must practice charity. Our lives should be lived: as, Making an Investment in Love and Kindness. The charitable arm of our giving is known as M.I.L.K. Money

Chapter VI Apostolic works and life in the S.A.C.R.E.D. All members of Teen Ministry, Brothers and Sisters Evangelizing, S.A.C.R.E.D. Band, and Make an Investment in Love and Kindness, should treat each other as members of one family, and confidently make known to each other their needs; we are One Body in Christ and must witness this to the world. Chapter VII Reconciliation

Anyone who falls into mortal sin must immediately seek the Sacrament of Confession. Regular Confessions and a Confessor is recommended. When we confess to the same Priest on a regular bases a minimum of once a month we find that our discernment of actions increase. The deeper the conversion the more noticeable the depths of sin in our daily lives. As we grow in Christ through the Holy Spirit so will our understanding of offending God. We must keep ourselves pure and Holy Instruments of God's grace. We shall take care not to get angry or disturbed by others. Work to rid yourself of judgment and practice forgiveness thus you will be forgiven. Nothing should stand in the way of Love, and Charity. Chapter VII Chastity

Purity counts and must be strived for as we follow and discern the will of God. We must at all costs avoid situations that lead to sin especially lust. Use every means available to remain chaste. Prayer for the removal of temptation is a defense. Only look with love as Christ would, never with sin. Do not allow yourself to be intimate or alone with someone, that temps you from purity. We do not want to cause one to sin. As instruments of salvation, it is prudent to avoid sin including causing anyone to sin. Modesty is respectful and an act of love for one and all. As recipients of the Sacrament of Marriage, we should practice Chastity. Seek the will of God in our life in Sacramental marriage. Every act we partake should be with the intention to bring Glory for the Kingdom of God. Chapter VIII The practice of one living a S.A.C.R.E.D. Life

Those who choose to live a S.A.C.R.E.D. Life in response to the grace of God through a life of continuous conversion and self-emptying in order to live for the Glory of God. We may achieve this by:
a) A life centered on Christ through personal and communal prayer, and Service through unconditional Love and Charity. b) An ongoing growing love and Adoration for the Holy and Blessed Sacrament of the Eucharist;
c) A personal devotion to Saint Joseph, all the saints
d) A Reverence for all that God the Father has created. e) To live out the great Commission to Evangelize. That everyone will have an opportunity to know a relationship with Christ. f) Discernment of God’s will in our life and the frequent reception of the Sacrament of Penance, when we fail to follow God first and only. and confidence and love for Mary the Mother of God that always leads to Christ Jesus.

Why did God create evil? The answer struck me to the core of my soul!
A professor at the university asked his students the following question:
- Everything that exists was created by God?
One student bravely answered:
- Yes, created by God.
- Did God create everything? - a professor asked.
“Yes, sir,” replied the student.
The professor asked :
- If God created everything, then God created evil, since it exists. And according to the principle that our deeds define ourselves, then God is evil.
The student became silent after hearing such an answer. The professor was very pleased with himself. He boasted to students for proving once again that faith in God is a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said:
- Can I ask you a question, professor?
"Of course," replied the professor.
A student got up and asked:
- Professor, is cold a thing?
- What kind of question? Of course it exists. Have you ever been cold?
Students laughed at the young man's question. The young man answered:
- Actually, sir, cold doesn't exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is actually the absence of heat. A person or object can be studied on whether it has or transmits energy.
Absolute zero (-460 degrees Fahrenheit) is a complete absence of heat. All matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe what we feel in the absence of heat.
A student continued:
- Professor, does darkness exist?
— Of course it exists.
- You're wrong again, sir. Darkness also does not exist. Darkness is actually the absence of light. We can study the light but not the darkness. We can use Newton's prism to spread white light across multiple colors and explore the different wavelengths of each color. You can't measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into the world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you tell how dark a certain space is? You measure how much light is presented. Isn't it so? Darkness is a term man uses to describe what happens in the absence of light.
In the end, the young man asked the professor:
- Sir, does evil exist?
This time it was uncertain, the professor answered:
- Of course, as I said before. We see him every day. Cruelty, numerous crimes and violence throughout the world. These examples are nothing but a manifestation of evil.
To this, the student answered:
- Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist for itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is like darkness and cold—a man-made word to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is not faith or love, which exist as light and warmth. Evil is the result of the absence of Divine love in the human heart. It’s the kind of cold that comes when there is no heat, or the kind of darkness that comes when there’s no light.
