As Trevorโs Vision our mission is to feed, clothe and serve the homeless population here in the valley. โFor I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.โ โThen the righteous will answer him, โLord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?โ โThe King will reply, โTruly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.โโ Matthewโฌ โญ25:35-40โฌ โญโฃ

Homelessness in the United States is one of the biggest problems. Did you know that African Americans make up a disproportionate share of the homeless population? Last year African Americans made up 40% of the homeless population DESPITE only representing 13% of the general population. Our black community is over represented in the homeless system due to privileges they have not been granted compared to everyone else. Discrimination, poverty, housing, and even the criminal justice system has not been in their favor. Racial inequality was and still is a problem here in the United States. We are glad so many are speaking out and we wanted to make it clear where we stand. We stand with all of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Black lives matter, we are not saying all lives donโt. What we are saying is that for generations it has been made clear that society does not value a black life as much as another. Black lives donโt matter to everyone and that needs to change. โฃ

We vow to continue to serve without bias but FULL of love to our brothers and sisters. We want equality, we want police brutality to end, we want homelessness to end. Our time here is short, but eternity with God is not.
Which side will you be on?
