She was 7 when she played her first songs on the accordion. Now HOHNER has built her one of her own. 🪗✨
Meet Evelyn Ozuna, "La Princesa del Acordeón," one of the brightest rising stars in Regional Mexican music, and she's from right here in Phoenix, Arizona.
Her big moment came during the pandemic. Her father's musicians couldn't travel from Mexico, so he brought Evelyn on stage to play the bajo sexto. She carried the whole show like a seasoned professional, and that night everyone knew a star had been born.
Today she sings and plays the accordion, the bajo sexto, and the electric bass. She's a featured artist with HOHNER, the world renowned accordion maker, which designed an exclusive Barbie pink accordion just for her. She has shared the stage with major artists across Mexico and the United States, and she's inspiring a new generation of girls to pick up an instrument and dream big. 💗
Her music celebrates life, love, and the pride of being a woman in Regional Mexican music, and you can hear it live at the 27th Annual Chandler Mariachi and Folklórico Festival this Día de los Mu***os.
