Neuroregeneration is the regrowth or repair of nervous tissue.

In simple terms, it's the body's ability to rebuild damaged nerves—the very cells that carry signals between your brain and the rest of your body.

After a spinal cord injury, these pathways can be disrupted. That's why neuroregeneration is a major focus in SCI research. Scientists are studying ways to encourage nerve cells to heal, reconnect, and restore function.

The progress is real. While there's no simple cure yet, researchers are making meaningful strides in understanding how nerves can repair themselves—and how we might help that process along.

Knowledge is power, and hope grows with every breakthrough. 💙

☀️ Warm weather is here — and so is pool season.

If you're living with a spinal cord injury, a little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your time in the water safe and enjoyable.

Before you get in:
✅ Always check water depth before diving — never assume
✅ Enter the water carefully, using ramps or pool lifts when available
✅ Scope out your surroundings and know where the shallow end is

While you're swimming:
🤝 Bring a buddy — never swim alone
👀 Stay aware of other swimmers and obstacles around you
💪 Know your limits and listen to your body

Pool time should feel freeing, not stressful. With the right precautions, you can soak up every bit of this season safely.

Save this as your warm-weather checklist and share it with someone who could use the reminder. 💙

Every 48 minutes, someone in the U.S. sustains a spinal cord injury.

Behind that statistic is a person — a parent, a child, an athlete, a friend — whose life changes in an instant.

We believe that change doesn't have to be permanent.

We fund cutting-edge spinal cord injury research and connect those affected with the hope and resources they need to keep moving forward.

But we can't do it without you.

Your support helps bring scientists closer to a cure — and gives real people the strength to face today while we fight for a better tomorrow.

🔧 Prep your vehicle — Check hand controls, tie-downs, and any adaptive equipment before you leave home.
🎒 Pack smart — Bring extra supplies, medications, and backup gear. More than you think you need.
🗺️ Plan your route — Research accessible rest stops, gas stations, and facilities along the way.
📲 Stay connected — Share your itinerary with someone you trust. Check in regularly.
🔒 Buckle up, every time — Proper securement isn't optional. It saves lives.
