Here is some info on our second recipient Little Miss Brielle. She is a little sister to a dancer at a local studio and has been through an extraordinary amount at her little age.

She was diagnosed at 6 months old with Langerhan Cell Histiocytosis(an extremely rare cell abnormality) only like 1 in a million would get this at her age, after seeing 2 tumors on her head and and incurable skin rash. Chemo started at 7 months old with a medi port placed in her chest. After 7 months of the first round it spread. So we had to do a year of a second round, so until she was 2 and half. She has been in remission so far but still gets quarterly check ups with her oncologist at Akron Childrens in akron(an hour away) and bloodwork. X-rays are scheduled in March and yearly scans(mri) are usually in Sept. She will continue with these regular check ups for at least a couple more years because what she has is so rare there's not a lot of research on it. So there always constantly monitoring her. She is slightly developmentally delayed but I think thats mostly due to the isolation. During chemo she was not allowed around anyone except the family that she lives with and her doctors. And then there was covid during chemo and she had absolutely no immune system because not only does the chemo kill the bad Cells it also kills the good one too.

She is doing well currently but we are honored to help her family with all the medical costs to keep this little healthy

Hello Dance Families! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday's. Here is a little about our first recipient. He is a member of one of our dance families. Thanks for all the hard work getting pledges in for these families!

His story is below.

William Squire has a complex medical history. He had cardiac catheterization on June 30, where angioplasty and a stent was placed. On July 3, he became hypotensive and tachypneic, and was admitted to the ICU. Further CT imaging showed an epidural abscess, for which neurosurgery and infectious disease were consulted. After a complicated hospitalization where he required intubation and antibiotics, he was beginning to show signs of improvement.

On July 26, he was admitted to our hospital to begin his recovery journey so that he could walk out of our facility stronger and more independent. William shared that upon his arrival to our hospital he was very negative and in a dark place emotionally. His scary moment was when he could not lift his legs to move the bed sheet.

He was then sent home from Rehab in September and three weeks later was admitted back to the hospital with pneumonia in both lungs and the infection in his spine had returned. Emergency surgery was the only option. After surgery William had many ups and downs with heart issues, blood pressure issues, he was retaining fluids and his whole body was swollen. Once the doctors got all of that under control he then he went back to the acute rehab facility. There he gained more strength. William was released from the rehabilitation facility on November 14. All though he is home, his journey is not near over. He came home with a picc line and is administered antibiotics 4 times a day and still sees a wound nurse as the surgery he had 2 month ago, the incision is still not closed. He is still not able to walk and gets around very slowly with a wheel chair/walker. Linda, his wife takes care of him 24/7. On top of all of that he has congestive heart failure and only 40% of his heart is functioning. He now has metal rods up most of his spine. Heart attack, emboli-zed stroke and sepsis are among other things that occurred though this whole process. Not to mention the 30 some medications he has to take on a daily basis.
