Girls on the Run participants aren’t the only ones who grow from our lessons and activities! GOTR girls, coaches, families, and friends. Please see this note from Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon about a possible delay for the 5K.

Attention 5K runners! Please be advised that the start of the 5K on Friday, April 25, will possibly be delayed by 30-60 minutes.

Our partners at the National Weather Service have identified possible scattered showers that may include lightning around the race start time. The chance for lightning is forecasted to be highest at 4pm and diminishes significantly by 8pm.

🎺 This may result in the 5K beginning at 8 or 8:30pm
🎺 Cancellation is not an outcome we’re currently exploring.
🎺 No other races will be impacted.

The Race Command Center will issue another message regarding this matter at 9am tomorrow, Friday, April 25, following our daily call with the National Weather Service.
