Reading Reduces Recidivism-Books to Illinois Prison Libraries

Good Morning! Like so many groups 3R’s has been effected by the pandemic. We, the organizers, are re-examining how we provide books to Illinois prison libraries. Currently we have one active chapter, the one in Carbondale, which serves seven prison libraries in Southern Illinois. We are not collecting books at this time. We can accept financial donations which we use to purchase books requested by Illinois Prison Librarians. August, 2022

CU Independent Media Center is providing a Weds livestream program (Sounds Like Community) at 7pm while the Center is closed during "stay at home" safety measures.

This Weds there is poetry and piano; Next Weds, Sam Natla is scheduled. Sam is a volunteer with our sister organization, Books to Prisoners.

The program for May 20th is a presentation on prison justice by Sam Natla. Since last December, Sam's Prison Justice Show has been running on WRFU every Saturday at 1:15
