📢Referring A Child FAQ📢
✅Who is eligible?
A child with a serious medical condition who is in the age range of 5 to 17½ at the time they are nominated for the wish. We also prefer to stay as local as possible to Champaign County, or the nearest surrounding counties.
✅Who can refer a child?
Potential wish recipients, medical professionals, parents, legal guardians and family members or friends with detailed knowledge of the child’s medical condition. We will provide a referral form to be completed with important information. Parents/Guardians may also be asked to provide written proof from a medical professional of the seriousness of the child’s condition. Only one wish is granted per year.
✅Are there any limitations to a wish?
Every child has their own ideas of the perfect wish, and we make every attempt to grant all wishes and go that extra mile to make their dreams come true. While there can be many contributing factors to the success of the fund-raising event, we can be limited to the amount of funds raised each year. That said, when a child is chosen, we respectfully ask for the family and friends to participate in our fundraising efforts and events for that year - your network will have a huge impact on our success, in addition to our wonderful community of supports.
✅How do I refer a child or family?
You may submit your own family or someone you know to be considered for a wish. Those who don't get picked for the current year stay in our database for future consideration!
