Friends,
We need volunteers to help serve our guests at the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen this weekend (8/5-8/6). Let me know if you can help out.

BIG NEWS!!! We are now serving some of our guest inside. Many people will still use our take-out window, but we will also be serving some of them in person. We will probably need a few more volunteers to help with serving & cleaning but we should be alright.
Remember, almost everyone has fun at soup kitchen.

Place: 116 North 1st- 1/2 block north of the corner of University and 1st. We are across the street from the police station (in case you've been there). We're about 1 1/2 blocks from the main bus terminal (Illinois Terminal) in downtown Champaign so getting there by bus will be easy. The Cattle Bank is on the corner and we're the second building north of that.

Parking: There are several businesses (mostly hair-cutting places) just north of us. On Saturdays, we'd appreciate it if you would park in a city lot across the street. These are free on weekends. On Sundays, the businesses are closed so you can park where-ever you like.

Volunteer entrance: There's an alley between our building and the building next door. Go down the alley and there's door facing south near the back of the building. You have to go up a couple of stairs. Ring the bell and we'll let you in.

We really need to know if we are going to have enough volunteers to cover all our shifts. If you could e-mail me and let me know. For example, "I'll be there on Saturday from 9:00 to 1:00 or 11:00-1:30 etc." then I can figure out if we have enough volunteers. Here is a rough estimate of what I think we'll need.

Friends,
We need volunteers to help serve our guests at the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen this weekend (2/11-2/12). Let me know if you can help out.

We have made major changes to how we operate in response to the current situation. We are giving our guests a hot to-go meal and a sack lunch to go. The guests do not enter the soup kitchen to minimize the risk to them and to the volunteers. We still need 8-12 volunteers to prepare the meal, make sandwiches, prep the to-go meals and sack lunch, distribute the food, wash dishes and clean-up the kitchen.
If you help out, you will be in the building with 7-11 other volunteers but it's big building so we can spread out a bit. It's important we have an idea who is coming so let me know if you are interested in helping out.
Also, we want our volunteers and guests to be as safe as possible, so WE WANT ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS TO BE VACCINATED. Also, if you have concerns about picking up something or if you are showing symptoms, please stay home. Remember, almost everyone has fun at soup kitchen.

Parking: There are several businesses (mostly hair-cutting places) just north of us. On Saturdays, we'd appreciate it if you would park at least a block away from us as we want to save the nearest parking spaces for their customers. There are meters farther down the street and in a city lot across the street. These are free on weekends. On Sundays, the businesses are closed so you can park where-ever you like.

Friends,
We REALLY need 1-2 more volunteers to help serve our guests at the Daily Bread Soup Kitchen this Sunday (5/22). Even 1 more volunteer would make a big difference.
Please let me know if you can help out. We start serving at 10:30 but it's good to get there a little earlier if you can.

Sunday: 1-2 volunteers for serving.

Peace,

Jeff
