🎓 Introducing our Local Chair for the Thirty-Fourth International Conference on Learning, Dimitris Zachos.
Dimitris Zachos is Professor of Pedagogy and Intercultural Education at the Faculty of Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He worked for many years as a primary education teacher in one-teacher schools, multi-grade schools, and large multi-teacher schools, gaining extensive experience across diverse educational settings. He also served as principal of a large school unit and as a School Advisor.
In addition to his doctoral dissertation, he has published three books and two volumes of university course notes and is co-author of two research reports. Dr. Zachos has also authored more than sixty-five articles in Greek and international academic journals and conference proceedings, as well as over thirty articles published on websites and in newspapers. He has participated in more than sixty Greek and international conferences and has been involved in international research projects and Erasmus+ programs.
Dimitris Zachos’s research activity, publications, and presentations at conferences, symposia, and seminars—as well as the student theses and assignments he supervises—focus on pedagogical issues examined in relation to economic, social, political, cultural, and ideological developments. His academic engagement beyond the university addresses both education professionals—through participation in conferences and professional development programs—and broader audiences, including lectures at open universities, participation in television programs, and the authorship of articles in newspapers, magazines, and online platforms.
