Hello all, I want to wish you a happy and safe 2026this is Don Glenn, Champaign County Chair and Senate Leader for New Illinois. On behalf of the committee, I want to reach out to you all. Illinois has become an unlivable place for many people. It will only get worse. Kicking JB Pritzker out of office will not fix the problem. It is not even a good first step. The problem goes far beyond the governor. The problem is the legislature and those who have bought and paid for them, meaning the special interest groups like the Chicago Teachers' Union, the utility companies, Special interest groups, and even Universities. The legislature has a set of rules that they rarely, if ever, follow. This is true of Democrats and Republicans alike. They bend the rules of procedure to push legislation through at 3 AM so the public doesn't have time to voice their opinions. this is not governance; this is quite literally what the pilgrims and those who have followed came to America to get away from. Tyranny, taxation without representation. If this is allowed to continue, this will become one giant welfare state with 101 counties, and over 7,000,000 people supporting ONE singular county. If this continues, we will leave a legacy of corruption and debt for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to inherit. SO now is the time that we, the citizens of Illinois, MUST come together and say NO MORE, THIS MUST STOP NOW! It is high time for RADICAL change; it is time for us, the Citizens of Illinois, to break away and tell Chicago, you are on your own! It is time for New Illinois! To those of you who have liked and followed this page, thank you for your support, but we need more. We need people who want to be active and to build a better state, a new state. We need people who want to help form a better way of doing things. Will it be easy? No, it will not. It will be hard and a long journey. It will be fraught with pitfalls and obstacles. But it has long been said that the best things in life do not come easy. I ask you to join me today to sign up as a member of New Illinois and help spread the word across Champaign County and Illinois. I am not asking for money (we could use that as well); I am asking for your time, ideas, and effort to get the job done. If you want to help drive change and be active, join a meeting to learn more. This month's meeting will be online via Zoom on Monday, the 19th at 7:00 PM. If you want to attend, please reply in the comments, and I will send the link via Messenger. We will aim to host more in-person events this year across the county. If you know of a public location that can host meetings, please let me know. Also, if you are a group member and would like us to address your group, please let me know, and we will schedule a time.
