This year was filled with unforgettable moments and impactful experiences for our B.O.Y.S mentoring program. From hands-on activities and mentorship to community outings and leadership building, our young men stepped up in amazing ways. To celebrate the end of an incredible year, the boys traveled to the Chicago Children's Museum for their end-of-the-year trip enjoying a well-deserved experience together. 🌆✨

Year 3 reminded us that this program is creating more than activities ,it’s building future leaders, positive role models, lasting friendships, and opportunities that inspire the next group of boys who will walk through these doors. Some major highlights this year included our first annual Blessing Bags initiative supporting families in need during the holiday season ❤️🫶🏽 & our Go Green Initiative 🌱 where the boys worked together to transform an outdoor space outside our building. 💚🌎

B.O.Y.S 💙Building Opportunities for Youth Success 💙
Is more than a program. It’s a brotherhood built on leadership, confidence, community, growth, and creating opportunities for the next generation. As our boys continue growing each year, the program itself continues evolving right alongside them, showing future participants what’s possible when young men are supported, encouraged, and empowered. 👏🏽

Happy Sunday everyone! ☀️
We had an amazing opportunity to take our boys down to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum in Springfield💙

They got to experience different shows, and one that really stood out was “The Self-Emancipation of Robert Smalls: The Unsinkable Freedom”, a powerful story about courage, leadership, and taking control of your own path 💪🏾🔥

Moments like this remind our boys that real leadership is about doing the right thing, standing strong in your values, and leading by example. Just like Abraham Lincoln showed us 💯🎩

Grateful for the invite and experiences that continue to pour into our young kings 👑 The future is bright! ✨

🌱 B.O.Y.S Mentoring Program – Go Green Initiative 🌱
We are so proud of our young leaders! This year, our B.O.Y.S mentoring program rolled up their sleeves and transformed an outdoor space right outside our building. 💪🏾💙💜
The boys worked hard to clean out the area, remove old materials, and give it new life with fresh soil, plants, and mulch. Watching them take ownership, work as a team, and care for their environment was powerful to see.
A huge THANK YOU to Prairie Gardens for donating the materials and helping make this project possible, we truly appreciate your support! 🙏🏾🌿
This space is more than just a garden now,it’s a symbol of growth, teamwork, and pride in our community.
Great work, fellas… this is what going green looks like! 💚🌎

🌎✨ Earth Day fun with our YOTF afterschool crew! ✨🌎
We kicked things off with a super fun game called “Clean Your Backyard” running, racing, and learning how to keep our planet clean! 🧹♻️
Then we went inside to make “dirt cups” (don’t worry… no real dirt here 😄🍫).
We wrapped up the day making seed bombs with our favorite flowers. Getting a little messy while helping the Earth grow! 🌱🌸
We LOVE celebrating Earth Day in fun ways! 💚🌎💜💙

Champaign Police have been working collaboratively with officials from the Champaign Park District and Champaign Unit 4 Schools in response to unconfirmed rumors of a potential teen gathering. The event was rumored to take place either yesterday or today, at either one of several potential locations around Centennial High School and Park.

These collaborations have been ongoing as part of a broader community response to a tragic event on Saturday, March 21. Champaign Police have been actively seeking any information from the community, including circulating rumors, to ensure the safety of our residents. At no time has there been a confirmed threat to any school, park, or the broader community.

Officers will have an increased presence in the area throughout the afternoon and evening, along with employees from the Equity and Engagement Department. Parents and trusted adults are encouraged to speak with their teenagers about the potential dangers of these teen gathering events, and to encourage them to make positive choices.
