Bravo Zulu Chief Cummings. Your hard work and determination has seen you rise to the rank of Chief Petty Officer - the first CPO under the re-named Normandy Division, and second to achieve CPO this year for the previously named Bluejackets Division.

A special thank you to Master Chief Petty Officer Mickey (ret.) - who also instructs Chief Cummings in his local NJROTC Unit at Chambersburg Area Senior High School - for reading the Chief's Creed and presenting the Chief's Cover, making this promotion ceremony even more meaningful.

We’re excited to share that our unit has officially transitioned from PA Bluejackets Division to Normandy Division!

Our new name honors the recently decommissioned USS Normandy, recognizing the service and legacy of her crew. It also holds special significance for our Commanding Officer, LT Jason Dodd, USN (Ret.), as Normandy was his first ship. He served as a plank owner—meaning he was part of the original crew that brought the ship into commission. We are proud to carry this name forward in tribute.

As we make this transition, you may notice that our page name here has not yet been updated. We are currently working with Meta to complete that change, and the process is proving to be a bit more involved than anticipated. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through the necessary steps behind the scenes.

Thank you for your continued support of our cadets and our mission—we’re excited for this next chapter as Normandy Division!

Summer Training Season is upon us!!

Between our cadets and adult leadership, our division is participating in over 30 trainings this summer!

These trainings range from Ceremonial Honor Guard in Virginia, Scuba in Tennessee and Arkansas, Basic Medical in Kentucky, Police MAA in New York, Aviation in Pennsylvania, Robotics in Indiana, Field Operations in Maryland, and various RT and NLOs along the East Coast.

Participation in the Sea Cadets is so much more than just a monthly local drill. Our cadets have the opportunity to try out different Navy-based trainings all over the country and the world. They also meet cadets from all over and build a network of comaraderie and friendship spanning the world.

What an experience!!! 🇺🇲⚓🇺🇲⚓

PO1 Cummings and PO2 Brady had the experience of a lifetime, embarking from Baltimore, MD to NYC on the USS Arlington (LPD-24)!!

They were underway 28 JUN to 30 JUN for the USS Arlington's trip to NYC for the International Naval Review 250! They were working side-by-side with the US Navy and Marine Corp, learning about life aboard a Navy amphibious transport dock ship.

If you look close, as they entered the New York Harbor, the crew conducted Manning the Rails, "a long-standing naval tradition where a ship's crew lines up uniformly along the railings and superstructure to render honors", passing by Ellis Island, The Statue of Liberty, One World Trade Center, and the New York sky line, until finally docking at Pier 88 in Manhattan.

These are memories will last a lifetime for these cadets!!!

Congratulations to the US Naval Sea Cadet Corps’ newest Sea Cadet Chief, Chief Ella Britton. It was a wonderful ceremony yesterday celebrating the culmination of years of her commitment to self-growth and leadership development. We are so proud of all she has accomplished!
