AOSA's Chapter Acknowledgement and Recognition Committee is celebrating! First Iowa Orff is doing an amazing job of reaching teachers across our state! This year, they held workshops in 3 different locations - Cedar Falls, Des Moines, and Iowa City. This change made workshops more accessible to teachers across our entire state! Yesterday, Jess Dunnick presented at the Iowa City Chapter, for a large group of teachers, including students at the University of Iowa. It was a lovely workshop, with strong attendance! Thank you to their leadership for working to reach potential members across our entire state!

Applications for the AOSA BBIA Scholarship are open! https://aosa.org/programs-events/scholarships-grants/

AOSA recognizes the need for a diverse representation of its membership. Established in 2018 and endowed by AOSA in 2025, the purpose of the AOSA Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Asian (BBIA) Outreach Scholarship is to provide financial support to teachers from BBIA backgrounds to attend the AOSA Professional Development Conference. The funds for this scholarship will be awarded to up to four recipients per year, and are to be used toward travel, hotel, and registration expenses for the AOSA Professional Development Conference
The funds include a one-year membership in AOSA. Membership in AOSA is not a requirement to apply.
