The second item is regarding a future display in our Historical Room. John Tillotson '72 has done a number of different displays honoring individuals, events, etc. regarding our Chagrin Schools history. A future display he would like to put together is regarding Coach John Piai. To honor Coach Piai can you share your favorite memory or two of him below or send it to me through messenger or email, [email protected]. To properly do the display can you also include what position you played, when you played for Coach Piai, and what year you graduated.

We want to remember and be thankful all those that gave their lives for our freedoms, especially the 11 that graduated from CFHS. John Tillotson '72 annually sets up our memorial markers in and around the campus for each of the 11. This year he has put together a memorial in a school display case for our students and visitors to see that is tremendous. The case is located outside of the Chagrin Falls Schools Tom Mattern Historical Room by the Sands Community Room.

Happy heavenly birthday to Tom Mattern. Go Tigers!

We have so many fond memories at CFHS due to in large part to the teachers, coaches, staff members, and others that made Chagrin what it is. Recently we just lost one of those special persons that had an impact on so many. Debi Shukys Gebler '75 spent a career as a secretary at both the high and middle schools, while she was also the cheerleading coach from 1982-2005. During the 1980s she would introduce the Mortimer mascot. A Chagrin Schools Hall of Fame inductee and a devoted volunteer to the CFAA, we send our thoughts and support to the Gebler Family.
