Do you know about the Cooper Prize?

The Charlotte Cooper Prize celebrates the life and can-do spirit of the late Charlotte Cooper, a beloved aunt and dedicated nurse whose love for family and community inspired all. Created by her family, the Cooper Prize is bestowed annually on a Chagrin Falls High School student/students (grades 9-11) pursuing innovative educational experiences or projects outside the classroom. Awards of up to $1,000 are available. To be considered for the 2025 Cooper Prize, your application must be submitted no later than April 27, 2025. Finalists will be contacted and scheduled to be interviewed by trustees of the Chagrin Falls Educational Foundation

Congratulations to Lisa Salyers, Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology teacher at Chagrin Falls High School, who has been selected as a 2025 Ohio Finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)—the nation’s highest honor for K-12 STEM educators! 🧪📐💡🧡

This prestigious recognition celebrates Lisa’s outstanding contributions to science education and her commitment to inspiring all students to grow and thrive. Selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees, Lisa now moves on to the National Selection Committee, with final decisions to be announced by the White House in early 2026.

We are incredibly proud to have Lisa representing Chagrin Falls Schools and the state of Ohio—and we’re cheering her on every step of the way!
