Culinary Fights Cancer Free-of-charge cooking classes for cancer patients and family members. Partnered with Cleveland restaurants and chefs.

The Joe Baab Culinary Fights Cancer Foundation. Our mission is 3 fold:

1) EDUCATE: Cancer patients and families will learn how to prepare and cook healthy meals that are time effective, flavorful, and mindful of the impact that cancer treatments can have on patients’ taste buds. Additional topics may include tips for grocery shopping, pointers for reading food labels, and information on serving s

izes.

2) CONNECT: Connectivity is central to our mission - our goal is not simply to learn how to cook and exposure to new recipes and nutrition, it’s about creating new and lasting relationships along the way. Our classes promote connectivity between chefs, cancer patients and their families, and CFC team members. We bring together patients/families of various cancer stages creating a community of empathy and support. In addition, our classes provide an experience to strengthen the bonds within each participating family while helping to implement and sustain healthy lifestyles.

3) EMPOWER: We provide a safe, educational, and fun experience for cancer patients and families that empowers through promotion of both positive physical and mental health. Cancer patients and families will gain confidence and skills to prepare healthy meals at home while meeting others who can relate in a fun and inviting atmosphere.

When Lyla was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma there was a lot of uncertainity in their lives. As they navigated the unexpected, their mother and daughter bond grew stronger. Now, Lyla is cancer free and they continue to inspire each other. 😊
