ABC Education Foundation

ABC Education Foundation The ABC Education Foundation was founded in 2011 to support ABC Unified School District programs in jeopardy due to budget cuts.

Our Vision: Every ABC Student, Every ABC School Succeeds
By providing financial support for the schools in the ABC district, we strive to offer unparalleled educational opportunities for our students. The Foundation has supported many programs in the ABC Unified School District, including: two Ragnar Relay race fundraisers, an “It’s Up To All of Us” pedestrian safety public education campaign, sch

ool backpack initiatives for homeless children (thousands of backpacks with school supplies to ABCUSD students over the years), the ABC Reading Olympics, Diversity Art Contest, and more. Our School Essentials for Education Program (SEED) allows teachers, administrators and mental health professionals to submit specific requests to the Foundation to fund specific needs for disadvantaged students. The Foundation also funds mini-grants for teachers to support special classroom projects. The ABC Education Foundation welcomes participation on our site from our community. We do our best to make sure that the postings on our page are consistent with the Foundation’s mission and look forward to sharing information about our programs and events. We reserve the right to remove posts that are abusive or obscene, act as advertisements or promotion for products, services or other organizations, are in violation of copyrights, trademarks or other laws, or are otherwise offensive. Another great night celebrating our students! At last night’s meeting, the ABCUSD Board of Education recognized outstanding students and programs from across the District.

Students from Elementary School kicked off the evening by leading the flag salute and sharing fun updates about their school. The Board also recognized the 2025–2026 Student Board Representatives from each of our high schools and the ABC Adult School for their leadership and input throughout the school year.

Wittmann Elementary School was honored for earning the Judicial Council of California Civic Learning Award of Distinction, with students sharing how the program has impacted their learning and school community. The CIF Champion Cerritos High School Boys’ Swim Team was also recognized for an incredible season in the pool.

What a wonderful night highlighting what makes ABCUSD so special — our students!

What an incredible honor for Cerritos High School! 🎉

Cerritos High School has been named a 2026 America’s Best Schools Award Winner by the National Center for Urban School Transformation at San Diego State University. Cerritos was one of just 13 schools across the nation selected for this prestigious recognition, celebrating excellence in student achievement, school culture, leadership, and commitment to student success.

Earlier this year, Cerritos High School was also recognized as a California Distinguished School for closing the achievement gap.

Cerritos High School is the second ABCUSD school to earn this national recognition, following Gahr High School in 2024.
