The San Marcos Association A non-profit community organization founded in 1982 to protect the rural, residential character of communities south of Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Please join our mailing list and visit our website for current events and notices. The communities and neighborhoods we serve lie to the south of the city of Santa Fe, NM. They include Silverado, Lone Butte, West Ranch, Galisteo Creek, South Fork, High Road, Rancho San Marcos, San Marcos Pueblo, Turquoise Trail, Silver Hills, Rancho Alegre, Garden of the Gods, and the village of Cerrillos. Membership in the Association is open to all property owners/residents of the area. Meetings of the membership are held annually in February. There are regular Board of Directors meetings, and at many of these meetings issues of interest to the membership are presented and general attendance is encouraged. The site will hold schedules of all meetings, a list of issues under observation, details of the Association's actions and any information deemed to be of interest. Santa Fe County Issues Safety Notice for Annual Walk to El Santuario de Chimayó -

The bee mascot demontsrates safe walking to El Santuario de Chimayó by wearing reflective clothing and a sun hat, and carrying water and supplies. The bee is properly disposing of waste, something public safety personnel are reminding all walkers to do. Don't bee a litter bug--leave no trace!

MIXUP ABOUT PUBLIC NOTICE ON HWY 14: The Public Notice on Hwy 14 is for a Transfer of Development Rights application by Rancho Viejo Partnership. This application will remove the right to develop almost 7000 acres along the east side of Hwy 14 south of the County Jail, allowing it to remain as agricultural open space. There is no mention of the Linea Energy project in Stanley.

This email is from Santa Fe County and provides information about the housing developments currently being constructed along Cerrillos Rd. near its intersection with Rancho Viejo Blvd. These developments are not in the SMA area of advocacy, so we had little opportunity to provide input into their planning. But, as many of you drive past and through this construction every day, we are sharing the information below.

SANTA FE, NM, Jan. 30 —Santa Fe County staff, along with state and private partners, celebrated the groundbreaking of the Turquoise Trail Apartments just off Rancho Viejo Blvd. and southwest of Santa Fe, this January.
