I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. The system is higher maintenance than most greywater systems need to be, but I'm glad we can process our kitchen sink water. Also, it's right in our house so it's easy for me to keep track of how things are going and divert or replace mulch as needed. We have a greywater class recording available on our website if you want to learn how to make your own (much simpler) system.

Just what they predicted as far as climate weirdness. Super dry times followed by intense rainfall. We are thankful that our built environment has fared so well. Today’s morning of sun allows us to use our off grid solar power to do some water pumping!

Looking forward to the Crestone Energy Fair! I love talking about watersheds, and I've already been doing a lot of that with the Earthstar Mentorship Program. Like how the health of the soil and vegetative cover determines how much sediment will end up in the water downstream. And how aquifer recharge and well use interacts with it all. So I get to present about that and also lure people into conversation by giving out free elixir samples! It's basically a bubbly soda made from wild plants. I might put some mint in at the end.
