The Merced / Atwater Women's 500 Club is an organization whose purpose is to promote friendship, competition, and the sport of bowling. The Merced / Atwater Women's 500 Club hosts 4 major tournaments a year.
1. Championship Tournament:
This tournament is open to club members only. It is the tournament that names one of our club members as the Club Champion for the ensuing year. Recognition i
s also given to the member bowling the highest scratch game.
2. No-Tap Invitational Tournament
This tournament is one that is open to members of other 500 Clubs throughout California. They are invited to our house to bowl a No-Tap formatted tournament -- which always proves to be a fun time!!!!
3. Friendship Doubles Tournament
This tournament provides our members the opportunity to bring a woman friend to bowl in a doubles tournament with the hope that she will become encouraged to join the club. If the friend has not yet achieved a 500 scratch series required to be a member, this tournament may be an incentive to try even harder. This tournament is a No-Tap or Crazy Game format.
4. Holiday Doubles Tournament
This is a "fun tournament" format. It is open to Merced / Atwater Women's 500 Club members and their invited guest. It may have three different types of games format, such as 3-6-9 (automatic strikes for those frames); 8 No-Tap (8 or 9 pins down on the first ball counts as a strike); Snake Eyes (a split counts as a strike); or any other fun-themed game.
