ATTENTION DRIVERS - TRAFFIC CHANGES ON 14TH STREET

Phase 1 of the long-awaited repairs to the 14th Street (Route 75) viaduct will begin on April 27. The contractor estimates the work will last two weeks. Obviously, the work schedule is dependent on the weather, but City Hall is hoping the project will be completed by May 8.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be times the flow of traffic will be stopped completely for equipment movement.

Local motorists are urged to use alternate routes and exercise caution in the areas between Chestnut Street and Maple Street during these times. We appreciate your patience.

🤝 Volunteers are needed — bring a friend, your family, or come solo and meet others who care about our community!
🧤 All supplies will be provided — just bring your time and willingness to help

What? You mean they get to go to school and cut cars into pieces for fun! How awesome is this class!

Was a great day to be a student in the fire science program at Spring Valley Career and Technical Education!!

We are excited for all the progress these students have made throughout this year in this program.

⚠️There is a power outage in the area of Broad Hollow and High St in Ceredo. This is causing outages along high St., Crescent Dr, BroadHollow Rd. and some other areas. AEP crews are assessing the issues and repairs currently.

As of this time we have not been made aware of an official restoration time from AEP.

-💛I’ve always had a strong desire to help people.

2. What is something people don’t realize about what you do?

-💛How much goes on behind the scenes. A lot of people picture 911 dispatchers as just “the person answering the phone,” but the reality is way heavier and way more skilled than most people realize.

3. What do you like most about dispatching

-💛Problem solving in real time, the connections you make with your coworkers, and knowing you actually helped someone.

4. What keeps you motivated on tough days

-💛My daughter. Being someone she would be proud of
