This was a HUGE moment for us at SkillsUSA.
During the Heavy Haul competition, Jason Birdwell and Erik Gomez led a live rigging demonstration using the Crosby truck, teaching students about rigging equipment, load safety, and why understanding what you're using matters.

The demonstration even included a controlled hook failure to show the real-world consequences of improper equipment use.

These 27 competitors are the top winners from their states, and their engagement, questions, and attention throughout the session were incredible to see.

This is how we introduce the next generation to our industry. 💪

Day 2 at SkillsUSA is here, and today the heavy competition begins! 💪🏗️

Students will put their skills to the test across 12 different competition components, showcasing the talent, determination, and potential of the next generation of our industry. The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Foundation is proud to sponsor the Rigging and Hand Signals portion of the competition, a great way to introduce students to the industry and build foundational knowledge that can open the door to future careers in lifting, moving, rigging, and crane operations.

A special thank you to Crosby and Train For The Crane for providing volunteers to serve as judges and help make this experience possible. Their support helps ensure students receive valuable feedback and industry insight as they compete.
We're excited to watch these future professionals rise to the challenge. Good luck to all competitors!

🚧 Day 1 at SkillsUSA and the future is looking bright.

The crane simulator stayed busy all day as students stepped into the operator's seat, explored career opportunities, and asked great questions about the lifting, rigging, and specialized transportation industries.

From California to Utah, Nebraska to Indiana, we had the opportunity to connect with students from across the country who are eager to learn about the careers that help build America.

The conversations, curiosity, and enthusiasm we saw today are exactly why workforce development matters. We can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings.

📍 Visit us at Booth #351 to learn more about careers in the industry and experience the crane simulator for yourself.
